Our mission is to create a community that earnestly wants God, wholeheartedly walks in the way of Jesus, and humbly waits on the Holy Spirt for the renewal of all things. Our hope is that we might have the humility to join with what God is already doing to bring about renewal in our families, our workplaces, our schools, our neighborhoods, our cities and beyond. Pastor appreciation ❤️

On Pastor Appreciation Sunday we had the chance to celebrate the three pastors who give so much of themselves to our church family. We’re deeply grateful for the ways Pastor Stephen, Pastor Andrew, and Pastor Mike love us, walk alongside us through life’s hardest moments, help us grow in faith, and remind us what it looks like to live out the love of Jesus.

Pastor Stephen, our lead pastor, shepherds our congregation with care, walking alongside us through the joys and challenges of life and helping us grow in our faith.

Pastor Andrew, our associate pastor of youth and community life, invests in the next generation and helps create spaces where young people can grow in faith, build relationships, and discover what it means to follow Jesus together.

Pastor Mike, our teaching pastor, helps us dig deeper into Scripture, ask thoughtful questions, and grow in our understanding of God and His Word.

Our pastors share in our burdens and our joys, walk with us through seasons of pain, and continually pour themselves out for the spiritual well-being of our church. They love us through our brokenness and remind us, through their care, of the love and grace of God.

Ministry asks a great deal of pastors and their families, often in ways that aren’t visible to the rest of us. We’re thankful for the sacrifices they make, the prayers they pray, the time they give, and the countless ways they lead and serve our church family.

Pastor Stephen, Pastor Andrew, and Pastor Mike: thank you for the ways you love us, lead us, teach us, and help us follow Jesus. We pray that you and your families experience deep joy, renewed strength, and rest in the ministry God has entrusted to you. We’re grateful for you!

Forgiveness is part of how God is making all things new.

Redemption isn’t just something we’re waiting for. God is already at work -- and when we choose forgiveness over vengeance, we get to be part of it.

Authentic Christian love makes room for the people we haven’t met yet and even the people who have hurt us. That doesn’t mean pretending the hurt never happened. It means trusting Jesus enough to choose a different way.

This is the family of God.

As Pastor Mike reminded us in his latest sermon, being part of the family of God means making room for one another -- not only for the celebrations, but for the grief, the struggles, the questions, and the hard seasons too.

On any given Sunday, you might celebrate a new baby with one family while sitting beside someone who is grieving the loss of someone they loved deeply. You might congratulate a young couple on their engagement and then listen to another couple whose marriage is struggling. Someone is beginning a new job while someone else is mourning the loss of theirs. One person has received the answer they’ve been praying for, while another has just received devastating news. One person has been deeply hurt. Another is learning what it means to forgive.

This is the family of God. And this kind of love is part of the redemption God is already doing in us. When we choose the way of Jesus, we get to participate in what God is redeeming right now.

Authentic Christian love makes room for fellow believers, for the brothers and sisters in Christ who we don’t yet know, and also for the people we struggle to love. It makes room for each other's joys and each other’s pain. We eventually learn to love each other -- and even those who oppose us -- with the same mercy God gives us every morning.

“Love one another with family affection, outdoing one another in showing honor, never slack in zeal, on fire in the Spirit, serving the Lord, rejoicing in hope, enduring under affliction, devoted to prayer, sharing in the needs of the saints, pursuing love for the stranger.” Romans 12:10-13

Our 20s & 30s are heading to C.N. Smith Farm! Meet at the church at 10:30am to carpool.

For everyone who serves at Granite City -- or wants to get connected to serving opportunities. Come meet others and find your place to serve!

👋 Newcomer Connect - October 18
New to Granite City? Come get to know us, meet our pastors, and learn more about our church.

🍽️ Midweek Eat Together - October 21 | 6pm
Food, friends, and conversation! Bring a dish to share and join us for a relaxed evening together.

🤠 Granite City Hoedown - October 25 | 12–2pm
Our free fall festival for the whole Quincy community. Bring your family and friends and join us for an afternoon of fun. Food trucks, trunk-or-treat, petting zoo, mechanical bull and more!

One thing that reveals if you're really serving Him. ⬇️

Jesus tells us that when we serve the hungry, welcome the stranger, and care for those who are overlooked and marginalized, we are serving Him.

By serving the least of these, we serve Jesus. And when we encounter the least of these, we encounter Him.

Living faithfully to Jesus's calling matters. His Kingdom is breaking through into our broken world, and we get to be part of how He's restoring all things.

Don’t wait for an invitation to the table. Make room at yours.

Welcome someone into your home. Share a meal. Offer a word of encouragement. Find ways to make space in your life for someone who needs a place to belong.

Ordinary acts of kindness and generosity can become extraordinary opportunities to encounter God.

When you make room for someone else, you may discover that God was already there.

This Sunday we'll continue in our Hospitality sermon series, talking about radical hospitality and the way it can transform our relationships.

He wants to know you, and be known. ⬇️

In Exodus 24, we see God drawing near to His people. He welcomes them into His presence, provides for them, and invites them to eat and drink at His table.

From the beginning, God created us to know Him and belong to Him. And even when sin creates distance between us and God, He keeps coming back for us. He keeps calling us home. He keeps reminding us, “I am your God, and you are my people.”

He wants a relationship with you. He makes room for you at His table. That’s the heart of God’s hospitality.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be exploring what it means to draw near to a God who wants to be close to us -- and to experience the abundant hospitality of a God who makes room for all of His people.
