💙⚪️ MASS ZETAS AT FENWAY PARK ⚪️💙

Soror Spivey proudly represented Omega Eta Zeta Chapter alongside fellow Massachusetts Zeta Sorors at Fenway Park for the Black & African American Heritage Celebration.

It was a wonderful opportunity to come together in fellowship, celebrate culture, honor heritage, and enjoy an unforgettable day with Sorors from across the Commonwealth. From sharing laughs and making memories to showcasing our Zeta spirit, the day was filled with pride, unity, and sisterhood.

Grateful for the chance to celebrate the rich contributions and legacy of Black and African American communities while strengthening the bonds that connect us as Zetas.

| Today in Black History

On June 18, 1963, thousands of Boston students and their families participated in Stay Out for Freedom Day, a peaceful boycott organized to protest racial inequities and unequal educational opportunities in Boston Public Schools.

Rather than attending school, students gathered in Freedom Schools throughout the city, where they learned about Black history, citizenship, leadership, and the ongoing struggle for civil rights.

The following day, The Boston Globe reported the headline:

“8260 Stay Out — But Stay Calm”

bringing citywide attention to the demand for equal educational opportunities for all children.

Stay Out for Freedom Day reminds us that civic engagement takes many forms. In 1963, students and families used their voices to advocate for change. Today, we honor that legacy by staying informed, participating in our communities, and exercising one of our most powerful civic rights—the right to vote.

Their courage. Our legacy.

We joined survivors, caregivers, families, and community members in celebrating hope, remembering loved ones, and supporting the fight against cancer.
