250 filters. One incredible morning at Crosswinds. 💧

This weekend, the Crosswinds Church family didn't just hear about clean water, they built it. Together you assembled 250 water filters headed to La Mosquitia, Honduras, each one carrying a message of encouragement to the family who receives it.

That's 250 households who will drink clean water for the next ten years. That's mornings that start at a school desk instead of a sick bed. That's your hands, reaching all the way to Honduras.

Some of our most meaningful trips aren't the biggest ones.

This July, a small team from Denver Community Church traveled to El Salvador and came home changed. Two of them were sophomore girls, invited to come grow their curiosity and take their first steps as lifelong learners.

For the leaders, the trip's biggest moment came in a community that decided to build its own road after the local government wouldn't put tax dollars toward it. Watching that kind of resolve up close stuck with them.

"We felt we had so much to learn from that community and their actionable problem solving," Cassie said, "in the face of our own culture and community's tendency toward complaint and complacency."

For the high schoolers, it was something simpler that left the deepest mark: mealtimes with their hosts. Over five days, the questions kept coming and the stories kept unfolding. Every shared meal, the conversations got a little deeper.

Mr. Mai Ngoc Danh's family lives in Tra Son village, Phuoc Tra commune, a mountainous area of Da Nang city, where life remains challenging and largely dependent on nature. He and his wife are farmers, working the fields every day, while their daughter is in secondary school, holding onto modest dreams for a better future.

The family's main source of water is a well beside their home. Making it safe means boiling it daily, but with demanding farm work, they don't always have the time or energy. Out of necessity, they sometimes drink it straight from the well, despite knowing the risks.

As a result, Mr. Danh's wife often suffers digestive problems, especially frequent diarrhea, which adds medical costs and takes a toll on her health, daily life, and the family's livelihood.

For years, clean drinking water was a constant worry. That changed when they received a water filter from GIBTK and ATTA. Mr. Danh shared: "Thank you to GIBTK and ATTA for providing my family with such an effective, easy-to-use water filter. We no longer have to worry about our drinking water. I sincerely appreciate your support."

Because of you, something remarkable happened this week. On Wednesday, filters reached medical teams working right at the epicenter in Colombia. Clean water, right where it's needed most, right now.

Over the summer, we had a team from Vanguard University visit communities with us to perform water testing on a river where over 120 kids and families bathe and collect drinking water.
