💙 Remembering Together

Grief looks different for every family, and sometimes, play can help us connect, remember, and navigate big feelings together.

In honor of Children's Grief Awareness Month, Quincy Children's Museum invites bereaved families to a special evening of play, connection, and togetherness.

📅 Thursday, November 19 | 5–7 PM

There’s no formal start time or schedule. Come when you can, stay as long as you'd like, enjoy dinner together, and explore the museum at your own pace.

In collaboration with Cornerstone and Blessing Health System, we're honored to create a welcoming space for families to play, connect, and remember together. We will have a variety of additional activities and resources available throughout the museum.

If your family has experienced a loss, we invite you to join us. Know a family who might benefit from this evening? Please help us spread the word by sharing this invitation with them.

Advance registration is encouraged to help us plan for dinner, but is not required. Families are welcome to attend whether they've registered or not!

DIG DEEPER 🦖We are collaborating with the Quincy Children’s Museum to bring you a very special and fun outdoor pre-show experience! This pre-show event, from 11:30 AM - 1:30 p.m., is FREE and NO Diggery Dinosaurs ticket purchase is required! However, we do hope you'll join us for an amazing show!

QCM's mobile exhibits connect young minds and work together to build a pyramid and an arch, learn about cause and effect with a magnetic wall, and use big blue blocks for creative brainstorming. QCM supplies all kinds of STEM bins and sensory experiences for endless possibilities!

Participants in attendance are encouraged to enter a drawing to win tickets to Kids for President and Winnie the Pooh!

We have one last surprise for the Makers Market!!! Our friends over at Quincy Children’s Museum are bringing “Dot Day” to 6th Street! Here’s how it works… they are setting up blank white canvases (weird, wonderful and oversized upcycled junk!) to start Saturday morning with. Children (and adults) can purchase stickers for a suggested $5 donation and then cover the blank canvases however they choose. In the end, we hope to have community art pieces like the ones pictured.

Won’t you join in the fun, joy and endless possibilities?! (And at the same time support their efforts to bring the QCM to their new permanent home!)

It’s happening!! It’s really happening!! ✨✨✨ Quincy Children’s Museum breaks ground on MONDAY! I am so proud to be apart of this project. So many people have come together to make this a reality!

This is a collaborating between Arts Quincy: & QCM as a part of Illinois Arts Council’s IllinoisAmerica250! It is one of the MANY public art projects commissioned throughout all of Illinois!
