Please make an appointment to donate, and support the fire department!

Coming this Monday August 26th from 12-4 PM is the annual Battle of the Badges Blood Drive. We are encouraging everyone to call Zenda at 228-4459 or to use your American Red Cross Blood app to make an appointment to donate. It will be held at the Quincy Regional Training Center located at 1900 Seminary Road. This is a competition between Fire, Police and EMS to see who can get the most people to donate and "vote" for their discipline. Fire has won 3 out of the last 4 years. Let's make it happen again this year!

Congratulations to our Co-Explorers of the Year! This year, we have chosen some "old blood" and some "new blood" as our honorees. Brianna Otten is currently the Chief of the Post and she has worked hard in the past year to update policies and prepare our group for their competitions at the upcoming National Fire Explorer Conference. Jarred Henderson is new to the post this year but he has hit the ground running! His enthusiasm is infectious and you can tell he has a passion for the fire service.

Congratulations to both of our honorees...

Please join local fire, law enforcement and EMS in supporting the Annual Battle of the Badges Blood Drive to be held on June 27th from 12-4 PM. The event will be held at the Quincy Regional Training Facility located at 1900 Seminary Road.

We are asking all members of the public to come out to this event and donate blood. There will be small tokens of appreciation from participating agencies for those that donate. For a little added fun, we will ask all donors to “support” one type of emergency response agency – Fire, Police or EMS. There is a plaque that hangs at the training facility that designates the winners for each year. Fire has the title for two years running but last year’s tally was tight!

To schedule a donation please call Zenda at 228-4459 or call 1-800-Red-Cross.

Explorers - we will start our Christmas party tonight with an all you can eat pizza buffet. We will then have Chief Mike Mavergeorge from the Illinois Fire Protection Association to do a short presentation and we will close out the evening with everyone getting a game card for four attractions and five dollars in game play. This is covered for Explorers and Advisors only. Anyone else wanting to eat/participate will have to pay for the related expenses.

Hope to see you all there! 5:30 tonight!
