My recent trip to Haiti with a graduating student from The Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University was very fruitful. We spent most of our time in Petit-Goave with the girls at the Immaculata's, our home for orphans and disadvantaged children. With love and compassion we assisted the grieving children, survivors of the January 2010 earthquake. We covered many things related to kids: thought processes, emotions, spiritual components related to loss, and art therapy. The girls expressed for the first time their feelings about the devastating earthquake aloud. They learned various techniques of anger management, how to ask for help and accept help. It was very therapeutic!
