Spring Fling 2026 is in the books! Teacher Ryan Sanborn and his students did an amazing job cleaning up the grounds and interior at the Quincy Historical Museum this morning. So many hands make the task easier and faster, in less than 2 hours, the job was done. Thanks also to Historical Society members Linda Burke, Judy Dobson and Susan Bercaw for keeping everyone on task. Karen Hargreave, Quincy Historical Society President.

Thanks to Chuck Cook former teacher/coach at Quincy High School for rescuing this beautiful painting of Quincy High School c1931. It was painted on pressed wood 22x 33 inches which was used for paneling back then. The artist was E. C. Bray. Per Bray’s obituary, he died in 1943, age 53 & was an artist. Ancestry records say he lived at 10 Arnold st with his parents & occupation was painter of houses & barns. He never married, served in the army in 1918-19, & was a member of the Union Church & was treasurer of the Union Sunday school for 20 years. The Quincy Historical Society is very proud to receive this beautiful painting & it will be displayed at the Museum.

The Society wishes to thank all of you who sponsored this year’s car show held Saturday, August 23 at the Quincy Park. This event is our fund-raiser for the Historical Society Scholarship fund. 63 cars registered. Winners are listed below and you will see that they came from a wide radius bringing their spectacular classic cars with them to share with everyone.

It was a great day and everyone that helped is greatly appreciated. And thank you to the Village of Quincy staff for their ever-present assistance, Quincy Historical Society members and friends who helped at the show in registration-Sue Bercaw, Pam Miller, Diana Conant, Marilyn Ostrander, and all those who helped judge, Rich Sattler, Ernie Ripley, Mike Toivonen for getting the show cars parked, and Judy Dobson for hosting at the museum. Thank you to Refuge Coffee for providing coffee at the event and Coldwater Automotive for their kind donation toward the donuts.
Looking forward to next year!
