I am pleased to announce that Dianne Saudo Donovan will be joining me as the co-coordinator for the Warren County Nurse Honor Guard (NHG).

Dianne brings 45 years of dedicated nursing experience to this role, having transitioned from an LPN to an RN during her distinguished career. As a resident of Warren County, she is deeply committed to our mission and has actively participated in tributes across both Warren and Washington counties.

In her new role, Dianne will assist with managing email communications, responding to Facebook inquiries, and leading tributes. Please join me in welcoming Dianne to this new role and thanking her for her continued dedication to ensuring that no nurse is forgotten.

What an honor to pay tribute to our friend and colleague,Amy McCall Ratti, yesterday at her celebration of life.

Her sister Kori started the service with sharing a story of Amy’s dedication to helping those in need no matter what the cost.

I not only had the honor of being Amy's colleague working together in the ER, but also of having her as a friend.

Amy was passionate about being a nurse and cared for others selflessly.

Last evening, I had the privilege of joining fellow Nurses Honor Guard members from chapters across Upstate New York at the NYS Emergency Nurses Association Gala, where we came together to honor and pay tribute to our fallen nurses.

One of the most moving moments of the evening was witnessing Esther, a devoted member of the Capital Region Nurses Honor Guard, who recently celebrated her 93rd birthday. With an incredible 73 years in nursing, she wore the cape of a dear friend who had passed. Hearing her read the Nurse’s Prayer was profoundly touching—a beautiful reminder of the compassion and dedication that define our profession.

I was also deeply grateful to stand alongside my cousin, Connie Fisk, who played an instrumental role in my journey to becoming a nurse. I had the honor of her pinning me at my nursing graduation 21 years ago and she has remained a constant source of encouragement and support ever since.

If you feel called to honor the legacy of nurses who have dedicated their lives to caring for others, I encourage you to consider joining a Nurses Honor Guard in your area.

We have received a request to honor Laura Barnaby, RN, with a Nightingale Tribute on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 1:45 p.m. NHG arrival time will be at 1:30 pm. The tribute will take place during visitation hours from 1:00–2:00 p.m. at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main Street, South Glens Falls.

Laura was born and raised in Ticonderoga, NY, where she graduated from Ticonderoga High School and sang in her church choir. She later married her husband, a member of the armed services, and embraced life as a military wife, living and working in numerous states before eventually returning to New York. She devoted many years to raising her two sons and went on to serve as a dedicated registered nurse at Glens Falls Hospital, where she worked for 28 years before retiring. Laura found joy in spending time with her family, traveling, gardening, crossword puzzles, music, and line dancing.

We have received a request to honor Carole Joy Jennings, LPN, with a Nightingale Tribute on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 11:50 a.m. at First Baptist Church of South Glens Falls, 1721 Route 9, South Glens Falls, just before her funeral service.

Carole attended the Fanning Trade School for Nursing in Worcester, Massachusetts. She dedicated her career to caring for others as a Licensed Practical Nurse, serving patients at Worcester Hospital, The Greenery Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care in Worcester, and with Southbridge Hospital Home Health Care.
