It also contributes to the city’s talent pool as a powerful economic engine and a leader in tech education, with more undergraduate computer science majors than any New York City college. Students from across the country and around the world come to the Aaron Copland School of Music. Its renowned faculty and alumni include nationally recognized composers, conductors and performers who have received nearly 40 Grammy Awards and nominations over the past 40 years.

Townsend Harris High School (THHS) officials hosted an assembly to celebrate the revitalization of its partnership with QC to provide THHS students with access to college-level coursework.

The Bridge Program, which had previously hosted THHS students at QC, was paused after a loss in funding. Participants included THHS Principal Brian Condon, Interim CUNY Queens College President Betsy Hendrey, Assemblywoman Nily Rozic 李羅莎, Congresswoman Grace Meng, NYS Senator John C. Liu, CUNY Senior University Dean P20 Pathways Andrea Soonachan, Director of Education and Intergovernmental Affairs for the Office of Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Katherine Zapata, and THHS Student Beyonce Boahen.
