The 876 Project

The 876 Project America’s history is rich with instances of its youth dynamically contributing toward the evolution of our nation’s social and political landscapes.

The 876 Project formerly The Voice of Youth Changes Everything INC (V.O.Y.C.E) empowers community to practically apply technology, education, art, entrepreneurship and civic engagement to positively impact the social of their communities. V.O.Y.C.E gives a desperately needed voice to youth in a world where far too many are conditioned to believe that they must wait until they are 18 to address pol

itical and social issues – and then, only by voting. From voting to fundraising, starting businesses, using new technology, art, education, collective organization to public opposition, youth have traditionally played a significant role in the shaping of our country; and today’s generation should be no different.

Weekends like this remind me why showing up matters.

The BPHA Legislative Conference brought together community leaders, advocates, policymakers, and residents all in one space — learning, connecting, and having real conversations about the issues shaping our communities.

This is where relationships are built.
Where information becomes power.
And where community voices help shape what comes next.

If we want stronger communities, we have to be in the rooms where the conversations are happening.

Civic engagement isn’t a moment — it’s participation.

Our BPHA Legislative Conference Weekend panel on Black to the Future was incredibly thought-provoking. Thank you to on sponsoring the panel!

Rooted in the lineage of Afrofuturism — the belief that our history, culture, and imagination shape what comes next — the conversation explored what it truly means to build a future where Black communities are not just present, but central, thriving, and self-determining.

We talked about the intersections of technology, education, community, law, policy, economic power, and the arts — and how real progress happens when these systems work together.

Because the future isn’t built in silos.
It’s built through collaboration, across sectors, and across generations.

Black to the Future isn’t just a vision.
It’s work we’re building — togetheR.

Yesterday’s conversation was rooted in power and access—how we experience it, navigate it, and sometimes have to create it for ourselves.

At The 876 Project, we hosted Breaking Bread | Stories & Community and created personalized prompt cards for each guest to help guide the evening’s conversations forward. Simple by design, intentional in practice—the prompts became the heartbeat of the room.

Sharing a few of the prompts that sparked reflection, storytelling, and connection around the table.
Which one resonates with you? What would your answer be?

And a huge thank you again to the for supporting this gathering through the Builder Microgrant and believing in the power of intimate, community-rooted spaces.

Last night was a reminder of what The 876 Project is rooted in: creating space for people to gather honestly, slow down, and connect through shared experience.

Breaking Bread | Stories & Community brought creatives, advocates, and community voices together around a simple prompt on power and access—and it became the heartbeat of the room. The conversation was generous, reflective, and deeply human.

Grateful to the Breakout Foundation for Builder Microgrant support that helped make this gathering possible. Thank you to for hosting us. Proud of what we’re building at 876—one table at a time. 🍞✨

Four conversations. Countless voices. One community.

Over the last few weeks, Liberation Labs brought neighbors, business owners, advocates, youth, and elders together across Queens & NYC to talk about what racial equity really looks like — in our homes, our streets, our health, and our futures.

From Housing, Space & Power, to Access, Opportunity & the Commons, to Future Tense: Youth, Power & the Path Forward, and finally Health, Healing & Harm Reduction — each Lab reminded us that change begins with honest conversation and collective imagination.

There were no wrong answers — only truth, vision, and possibility. Each participant received a $20 gift card for their time and feedback.
In partnership with the NYC Commission on Racial Equity (CORE).

And we couldn’t do it alone.
Endless gratitude to AMI Center, Greater Nexus, and Elmcor for hosting us — and to everyone who helped facilitate, spread the word, and made sure our communities’ voices were heard.

This is only the beginning.
🟣 More Liberation Labs to come.
