On September 26th, 2026, in New York, during a meet-and-greet with Nepal’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Honorable Shishir Khanal, after presenting him with a donation check for Nepal Floods and victims, President Manoj Singh of the Madheshi Association in America (MAA) expressed concerns and outlined issues pertaining to NRN citizenship, including the status and provisions for Angikrit citizens residing abroad. He underscored the importance of consistently safeguarding individuals' rights to be recognized as Nepali, affirming that 'once a Nepali, always a Nepali.'
