Who’s next? Jamal Murray played in his first all-star game in February, 2026. He played for and totaled 8 points, 8 assists, 4 rebounds and 1 steal. In January, 2015 as a high school junior at Prep he and his teammates traveled to to play in the . He put on a spectacular performance in a 66-64 loss to the . Murray earned 1st Team All-Tournament after finishing with 28 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Murray, who played collegiately at for John Calipari, is now considered one of the NBA’s top point guards as he prepares to lead the Denver Nuggets into the NBA playoffs.

Congratulations to Coach Ron Naclerio on becoming the winningest coach in NYS history.

A true legend of NYC basketball. Between 2005-2016, he led Cardozo to victories in Big Apple Basketball events over Archbishop Molloy, Iona Prep, St. Peter’s, St. Raymond, Archbishop Carroll (DC), Friendship Charter (DC), Patterson (MD), San Diego (CA) & Seton Hall Prep (NJ), competing against top programs from New York City and across the country.

Join the Tom Konchalski Foundation on Saturday, March 21 from 11am-2pm for their Midtown Madness brunch at Bryant Park Grill in Manhattan.

The annual event celebrates individuals who embody integrity, leadership, and service through the game of basketball.

This year’s Values of the Game Award will honor Allan and Wade Houston, a father and son whose influence extends far beyond the court.

Additional honorees include Coach Jere Quinn, recipient of the Inaugural Jack Curran Character Award, and Coach Tom Murray, who will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Congratulations to Michael Bowman (CCNY) on receiving the Burt Beagle Sportsmanship Award. 🏀👏
Bowman helped lead City College of New York to a conference championship while serving as a true leader on and off the court. He finished his senior season averaging 11 points and 3 rebounds per game and is pursuing a degree in economics with a focus on finance.
The award honors the legacy of Burt Beagle, a beloved figure in New York college basketball and the longtime statistician for Baruch College men’s basketball. Beginning in 1969, Beagle worked an incredible 930 consecutive Baruch games over 37 years, rarely missing a home or road contest and becoming a constant presence at the scorer’s table. He also served as the official statistician for Big Apple Basketball events from 2003 until his passing in 2007, and was widely respected throughout the New York basketball community for his dedication, humility, and love for the game. 🏀

Congrats to O.D. Anosike on having his jersey retired at St. Peter’s High School. In the 2008 Big Apple Basketball Challenge, he had 24 pts and 20 rebs for St. Peter’s vs. Wings Academy at St. John’s University. He led the country in rebounding as both a junior and senior at Siena College (NCAA Division I) and has been playing professionally overseas since 2013.

In 2004, Deron Rippey, Sr. was pouring into young players as the head coach of McKinney HS in Brooklyn at the Big Apple Basketball Challenge — teaching, mentoring, and leading.

Fast forward to today: that same leadership, discipline, and love helped shape his own son, Deron Rippey Jr., now committed to Duke.
