Queens, the largest borough in New York City (109 square miles) is usually treated as the borough that holds many of our working class immigrants, airports and the Mets. Manhattan clearly generates a lot of revenue and attention for NYC and for many of us that live in the outer boroughs, we have to do our part in the city. The premise of Queens Distance is to set up a base of races for people to c
ome to Queens and enjoy what we have to offer. From Flushing Meadows Park to Astoria Park, people take their runs across the most diverse communities in the world. Starting with races to come in September 2013, we plan to organize events showcasing the community it is held in. From Astoria to Far Rockaway, Maspeth to Little Neck, if you run in Queens, we would LOVE to see you post your run by tagging Distance, we want to know where you run and what makes it so distinct. Please stay in touch as we hope to hear from you on how we can make fun runs in Queens!
