Happy New Year! 2021 was a year of firsts for the Fera Foundation. In the span of a year, we expanded our remote classes from 1 to 50 spanning the entire nation of Bangladesh. None of this would have been possible without our enterprising, altruistic remote teachers and health professionals. We are so grateful to our NGO and school partners for their trust and patience. As we enter the new year, we look forward to elevating and expanding our remote humanitarian services. We will continue building a formidable network of global citizens to drive us toward this bright future.

A big thank you to Exploring By The Seat Of Your Pants for having us today! The girls at DMNAPK Girls Safe Home were so enthralled virtually visiting lions and elephants in Zambia with conservationist Thandiwe Mweetwa and host Joe Grabowski. It’s so inspiring to see the team at Exploring By The Seat Of Your Pants guaranteeing access to free virtual field trips from anywhere in the world. We welcome you to see our Grade 5-6 ESL class at Monu Mia & Sultana Girls Orphanage led by the dynamic duo Madam Shriya and Madam Tasnim!

It's humbling for us to see the deep, sororal bonds Madam Tasnim and Madam Shriya have fostered with the girls. Madam Shriya may not be fluent in Bengali, but she has truly stood out as one of our best teachers! With the marvelous Madam Tasnim, conversations have been going seamlessly. This is the excellent standard we hold all of our remote teachers to. Whether or not you are fluent in Bengali, we welcome you to join our remote teaching cohort!

We are proud to announce that the Fera Foundation is an Official Certifying Organization for the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA)! Led by the Americorps and managed in partnership with Points of Light, PVSA is the most prestigious national award honoring American volunteers both at home and abroad. We look forward to nominating our most exceptional American remote volunteers for the PVSA Award!

We are excited to share a significant milestone for The Fera Foundation! We are now a registered public charity with tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code. We are honored to facilitate potential donors in enhancing the quality of life of the children and women we serve. We are looking forward to launching charitable school supply, technology, toy, and book drives in the very near future, so stay tuned!

Fera Foundation is committed to offering a safe space to address a variety of health concerns for the women and children we serve, so we are excited to announce we now offer comprehensive telehealth services through our workshop series Esho Kotha Boli 🩺

Some more info about our telehealth series:
➡️Our workshops are comprised of 30 minute discussions on a selected topic to educate and confront misconceptions on health concerns.
➡️These discussions are followed by 30 minutes of one-on-one telemedicine consultations with Dr. Prianka, which has consisted of diagnosis and treatment (including prescriptions as needed).
➡️Currently, we offer health & wellness workshops about menstrual health, epilepsy, lead poisoning, nutrition, and autism.

We have found that our health education workshops have fostered trust and open dialogues between Dr. Prianka and our respective clients, and we’re honored to be able to empower communities and hope to expand our remote services in the future!

At Fera Foundation, our ethos is rooted in fostering empathy. Violence toward the innocent is wrong and unlawful in all religions. We must join together as a community to quell such injustices together.

The spirit of Bangladesh is rooted in religious coexistence. We hope to see and lead the way toward a Bangladesh that transcends sectarianism and embraces cultural and religious differences.
