I am almost ready to turn our Arizona's Fire Departments book into the publisher and since I have been doing research, I get a lot of interesting fire posts. This one I had to share as it is so unique, the only subterranian fire department in the world. Read the full story at this site. Hope you summer is going well. Stay safe out there with all our Arizona wildfires raging.

Congratulations to Apache Junction Fire Department now Superstition Fire and Medical on your 70th Anniversary! Back before we had our own Queen Valley Fire District , your Apache Junction Fire Department would come racing out to help Queen Valley volunteers with any structure fires we had. You still help us with our Mutual Aid agreements. Partners then, and now. Best wishes for your continued success. Stay Safe!

This Sunday March 2nd the Queen Valley Fire District will be conducting a controlled burn helping with a community clean up , we will be burning large piles starting at 7am depending on the wind. Everyone is welcome to watch just please leave room for fire truck access. If conditions are right we will be burning all of the piles on the same day. Please share with your neighbors so we can cut down any unnecessary calls to 911.
This area has been a Fire hazard and an eye sore for many years, this is a community clean up project!
Thanks all,

Cecil

A new chapter of our history is being written in Queen Valley's downtown area. Land that had been dormant for over 30 years has now been bought by the Queen Valley Golf Association and will be developed for recreational use by members and the town. Here are some historic pictures of past uses of the land while the plans are drawn for the new uses of the land. It has been an orchard, a bunkhouse, a steakhouse, a proshop, and a miniture golf course. Can't wait to see what comes next! See the February QVHS newsletter included in the Community Association Newsletter to see historic pictures of these buildings.

I just ran across a very fun 3 year old car tour of Queen Valley that shows some of the changes we have had since then. What a great trip down memory lane for those that live here.
