Four Paws? Try Twenty-Four!

Meet Our Beagle Mix Puppies! ❤️ Duke, Max, Rocky, Charlie, Toby, and their sister Lucy are a playful group of Beagle mix puppies born in March 2026 who are ready to discover what life is supposed to be all about!

These six siblings were removed from a hoarding situation alongside another litter of puppies. They spent their early lives living outside and missed out on many of the comforts and experiences that every puppy deserves.

Now safe in foster care, they are learning how wonderful life can be! They are discovering the joys of playing, exploring, cuddling, and simply being happy puppies. They are currently working on potty training and will need patient families who are ready to continue helping them learn and grow. These sweet pups love other dogs, cats, and kids!

With their playful personalities and puppy energy, they would do best with an active family that can give them plenty of love, patience, exercise, and guidance.

Duke, Max, Rocky, Charlie, Toby, and Lucy have overcome a difficult beginning, but their futures are looking bright. Now all they need is a family of their very own to show them just how wonderful a forever home can be. ❤️

Meet the Sweetest Chihuahua Mix Puppies! ❤️

Girls: Molly, Mia, Penny, Lola, and Ruby

Boys: Luka, Oscar, and Hugo

Born in April 2026, these adorable puppies are ready to find the loving forever homes they have always deserved!

Their mom was a Chihuahua, and the veterinarian has identified the puppies as Chihuahua mixes. As of September, they weigh approximately 12–15 pounds.

This sweet litter came from a heartbreaking situation. They were removed from a hoarding home along with another litter of puppies who are also searching for their forever families. When they arrived, the puppies were suffering from skin issues and were extremely underweight.

Thankfully, they are now safe and recovering beautifully in their loving foster home! ❤️ They are learning what it means to be happy, carefree puppies and are enjoying all the things they should have had from the beginning—love, comfort, playtime, and a safe place to call home.

They are currently working on potty training and continuing to learn all the important puppy skills. With patience, love, and consistency, each of these precious pups will make a wonderful addition to a family.

After such a difficult start, Molly, Mia, Penny, Lola, Ruby, Luka, Oscar, and Hugo are ready for their new beginnings. Could one of these sweet babies be the perfect addition to your family?

Meet Giselle!

Giselle is a beautiful 1.5-year-old Chihuahua mix weighing approximately 15 pounds. This sweet girl deserves nothing more than a fresh start and a family to call her own.

Giselle was found tied to a fence in an alley on a hot day, but despite her heartbreaking past, she has so much love to give. She is a true sweetheart who loves cats, dogs, and people of all ages.

Her gentle and loving personality shines through, and she is ready to leave her past behind and begin a wonderful new chapter. Giselle is currently working on her leash skills and potty training and will thrive with a patient, loving family willing to continue helping her learn.

After everything she has been through, Giselle deserves a safe home, a cozy place to sleep, and people who will love her forever. Could you be the new beginning this precious girl has been waiting for? ❤️

RIP K9 Cali

“Saying today was a hard day would be an understatement. We had to lay my longtime partner, friend, and family member to rest.
Cali lived a long 15 1/2 years, many of which she spent serving her country and her community. Cali started her heroic career as a member of the U.S. Army, assigned to the 7th Special Forces Group. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, her trainer and my good friend, Scott Zimmerman, reached out to see if our agency was in need of an explosives detection K9—which we were at the time.
Little did I know when I made the trip to Florida that I would be picking up the best little partner a K9 handler could ever ask for!
During her career, Cali worked multiple Masters Tournaments, the Super Bowl, NASCAR events, College Football Championships, and several dignitary assignments. She also served the citizens of Richmond County and the State of Georgia with great pride for seven years before her retirement.
Cali was so much more than a working K9. She was my partner, my friend, and part of my family.
She served well, loved well, and gave so much during her 15 1/2 years. She will truly be missed!

RIP K9 Zoro

The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office is saddened to announce the passing of K9 Zoro on August 24, 2026.

Zoro began experiencing sudden medical issues and was immediately transported to an area veterinary clinic for evaluation. Due to the seriousness of his condition, he was transferred to the University of Wisconsin-Madison Veterinary for additional care, where veterinarians determined that he was suffering from an advanced and terminal form of lymphoma.

After consultation with veterinary specialists and consideration of Zoro’s condition, the difficult decision was made to humanely euthanize him. Zoro was surrounded by his fellow deputies and his handler and partner, Senior Deputy DeVore.

K9 Zoro served with the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office from September 24, 2021, until his End of Watch on August 24, 2026.

Throughout his career, Zoro faithfully served alongside Senior Deputy DeVore, protecting our deputies and the citizens of Winnebago County. Zoro was more than a law enforcement K9. He was a partner, a protector, and a valued member of our Sheriff’s Office family.

“Losing Zoro is heartbreaking for all of us,” said Sheriff Gary Caruana. “Our K9s are members of our law enforcement family. They serve alongside our deputies and corrections officers, protect our community, and form bonds with their handlers that are difficult to put into words. Zoro gave us his best every day, and we are incredibly grateful for his service and sacrifice.”

Sheriff Caruana added, “Our thoughts are especially with Senior Deputy DeVore and his family during this incredibly difficult time. We know how deeply they loved and cared for Zoro, and we will never forget the contribution he made to the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office.”

The Sheriff’s Office is grateful to the veterinary professionals who cared for Zoro and made every effort to provide him with the best possible care.

Zoro’s service, loyalty, and dedication to our community will not be forgotten. Neither will the bond he shared with Senior Deputy DeVore and the men and women who had the privilege of serving alongside him.

RIP K9 Ace

In Memory of K9 Ace

It is with profound sadness that the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office announces the unexpected passing of K9 Ace following medical complications.

Ace arrived here in August 2020, and since then, faithfully served the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of Fond du Lac County alongside his handler, Sergeant Andrew Kohlmann. In these last six years, Ace demonstrated an extraordinary level of dedication, courage, and commitment to the community he served.

Together, Sgt. Kohlmann and K9 Ace were deployed 479 times, resulting in 496 arrests and countless instances in which Ace’s skills helped keep our deputies and community safe.

Throughout his career, Ace was responsible for helping locate and seize significant amounts of illegal drugs and other evidence, including:

• 1,347 grams of co***ne
• 1,080 grams of he**in
• 2,657 grams of methamphetamine
• 2,070 M**A pills
• More than 1,500 scheduled narcotics pills and prescription medications
• 236 paraphernalia arrests and citations
• 35 illegally possessed fi****ms seized
• More than $100,000 in drug-related cash seized

While these numbers demonstrate the tremendous impact Ace had on law enforcement and community safety, they do not tell the whole story.

K9 Ace was more than a law enforcement tool. He was a partner, a protector, and a beloved member of the Sheriff’s Office family. Behind every deployment was a dedicated dog who relied on his training and instincts, and a handler who trusted him completely. Together, Ace and Sgt. Kohlmann formed a partnership that made a lasting difference in Fond du Lac County and to our Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit. The duo’s work was an integral factor in driving the growth of our K9 program to the size it is today.

Ace worked when called upon, stood beside his fellow deputies, and served our community without hesitation. His contributions will continue to be felt through the people he helped protect, the dangerous substances and weapons he helped remove from our streets, and the countless situations in which his service made a difference.

Today, we ask the citizens of Fond du Lac County to join us in remembering K9 Ace and honoring the six years of faithful service he gave to our community.

To Sgt. Kohlmann: We recognize the tremendous bond between you and Ace and the loss that comes with saying goodbye to a trusted partner and friend. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office and the citizens you served together are grateful for everything you both gave to this community.

Rest easy, Ace. Your watch is over, and your six other four-legged partners will take it from here.

FROM FORGOTTEN TO FOREVER ❤️🐾 MEET WILDER!

Wilder’s story breaks our hearts, but we know his future can be so much brighter.

This sweet 1.2-year-old black Poodle weighs just 17 pounds and is an absolute love bug and lap dog. Wilder is crate trained, loves other dogs, and wants nothing more than to be close to his people. He does like to chase cats to play, so a home with cat experience or careful supervision would be best.

Sadly, Wilder was left behind when his owners moved. He was forced to fend for himself in a neighborhood until someone finally noticed him and brought him to safety. By the time he was rescued, his coat was horribly matted and filled with debris, including urine and f***s, and he had to be completely shaved down.

Despite everything he has been through, Wilder is still full of love. He is sweet, affectionate, and ready to put his past behind him. We will be sharing his before photos, because his transformation tells an important part of his story—but what we really want everyone to see is the beautiful soul underneath.

Wilder deserved so much more than being left behind. Now, he deserves a family who will never make him wonder if he matters again.

Could you be the one to give Wilder the safe, loving forever home he has always deserved? 🐶❤️🐾

RIP K9 Axel

K9 Axel was shot and killed while attempting an apprehension of a stabbing suspect.

The Charleston Police Department was notified that a man wanted on a felony warrant was at the 100 block of East Point Drive. When they arrived, the suspect fled into the woods behind the house. When K9 Axel apprehended him, the suspect shot at the officers. K9 Axel was hit with the bullet, saving his partner's and another officer's lives. Officers returned fire, killing the suspect.

K9 Axel had served with the Charleston Police Department for almost one year.
