As this school year comes to a close, I wanted to take a moment to recognize someone who has truly poured her heart into our school and PTO for so many years — my co-president, Missy.
While she has supported and volunteered with the PTO long before this, for the past two years she has been right beside me helping lead the day-to-day operations of the PTO, and I honestly cannot imagine these years without her.
From book fairs, holiday shops, holiday cart, glow night, fall festival, art walk, Art Masterpiece, and everything in between, she has been my right hand through it all. No matter how busy or stressful things became, she always showed up with a smile on her face, a positive attitude, and the calmest demeanor. Whether it was making last-minute gifts and shirts, organizing behind the scenes, or stepping in wherever needed, she did it all with so much love and care for our students, staff, and families.
What many people don’t see are the countless early mornings, late nights, phone calls, donation requests, setup, teardown, and all the little details that go into creating the events and experiences our families enjoy throughout the year. Missy gave so much of herself to this school community, and so did her family. Her husband Daniel deserves a huge thank you as well for always being there to help however needed. Together, they have dedicated so much time and energy to making Pickett such a special place.
On behalf of the PTO and our Pickett families, thank you, Missy, for everything you have done for this school. Your kindness, positivity, creativity, and dedication have made such a lasting impact on our students, staff, and community. Pickett is better because of you.
Personally, my heart breaks knowing I won’t have you by my side next year. I’m beyond grateful for the friendship, partnership, and memories we’ve shared through it all. Thank you for being the absolute best teammate and friend. 💙💚
