To be a Happy Tails dachshund means entering a safe foster home, receiving full vet care and being carefully placed in the best next home for that dog’s needs. Happy Tails Dachshund Rescue is a non-profit organization consisting of dedicated rescue volunteers who love the Dachshund dog breed. Our mission is to save as many Doxies from euthanasia, abuse, or abandonment and to adopt them into as many loving, forever homes as we can!

Raven & Brinkley - Two incredible journeys. ❤️
Brinkley’s early medical challenges are now completely behind him. He’s thriving, enjoying puppyhood, and found the perfect forever home—with the foster mom and dad who lovingly helped him heal.
Raven continues to make amazing progress. After weeks of laser therapy and electro-acupuncture, she’s now weight bearing! While her hind legs still lock and cause her to knuckle, she’s working hard in physical therapy to rebuild strength, retrain proper foot placement, and improve her movement. Her doctor was especially encouraged that Raven is already demonstrating an early version of a spinal walk.
Every step forward is worth celebrating. Please join us in cheering on Raven and congratulating Brinkley on his happily-ever-after! ❤️ A special thanks to Canine Wellness Center for helping develop a physical therapy program for Raven. Stay tuned for more progress updates!

🐾 HTDR Alumni Update: Berry! 🐾
We absolutely love receiving updates from our alumni families, and Berry’s made us smile from ear to ear! 💙
Berry’s dad, Bobby, shared these wonderful photos as they celebrate one year together after adopting Berry on July 26, 2025. What an incredible year it’s been!
From fishing trips 🎣 to camping adventures 🏕️, Berry has been living his best life. He’s also become quite the social butterfly and absolutely loves spending time with all the kids at the music academy. ❤️
Thank you, Bobby, for giving Berry the loving home he deserves and for sharing these special moments with us. Seeing our rescue dogs thrive in their forever homes is the greatest gift we could ask for.
Happy Gotcha Anniversary, Berry! Here’s to many more years of adventures, tail wags, and cherished memories. 🐶🎉

Winnie Wednesday! 💕
38.95 lbs! 🎉 We officially made it into the 30s!
Winnie is doing amazing. Her body has really kicked into fat-burning mode, and it’s showing in all the best ways. You can already see more definition in her waist, her silhouette is changing, and she’s becoming more comfortable moving around.
This journey has taken patience, consistency, and so much love, but every pound lost is giving Winnie a healthier, happier future. Watching her transform week after week has been incredible, and we couldn’t be prouder of her.
Our sweet girl still has a little ways to go, but she’s proving that slow, steady progress is the best kind of progress. Keep cheering her on—she’s working so hard! 🩷🐾

Happy Friday & Happy to give an alumni update for Sarah!💖
Sarah has been with us for 3 years and continues to have the largest personality of any of the dachshunds we have brought into our pack. She loves life and is more than happy to tell you so. She is a sweet and loving girl. She is fearless and loves exploring.Sarah is now an ocean explorer and a Copper Queen of Bisbee and looks forward to more adventures. She is also so happy to have her sisters.
We are grateful she is in our lives.
Happy Tails Dachshund Rescue is so happy to know Sarah is doing so well! 💝🥹.

Alumni update for Jake !!🥳
(not Jake from State Farm) 😏
“It’s been 365 days of having Jake as a part of our pack. He’s brought so much character with him and serves as a constant reminder to give others grace. We don’t know much of his story. He was a stray taken in by Maricopa County Animal Care & Control and then by Happy Tails Dachshund Rescue. He doesn’t like fireworks or thunder, but loves belly rubs, lounging anywhere that looks comfy, and any kind of food imaginable. His tail is always wagging and we are pretty sure in a past life he lived out of a beachside van surviving off of tacos and vibes. He needs all the petting, wears a super p*e suit if we leave him alone, cuddles on Olivia, and loves a nightly churro before bed. He’s a good man, Jakey tan! We are glad you’re here Jacob Jacoby!”
We are so happy to know Jake is being well taken care of, it fills our hearts to see all of our fur babies be filed with so much love and support!
