Everyone,
Tuckahoe State Park Ranger, Mark Herring, has posted a notice for volunteers needed for this Saturday, June 6.
It is in our interest to help out with our new trails and keep them maintained. Please help out if you possibly can.
Happy Summer Tuckahoe volunteers,
Hope you all have been enjoying the nice weather thus far. I just wanted to reach out and share with you all a couple of upcoming volunteer opportunities with you all.
First, this coming Saturday 6/6/26 from 10 am to 1pm at Tuckahoe, in celebration of National Trails day, we will be hosting a trail work. We are almost done with the reroute of the Tuckahoe Valley Trail, and the purpose of this workday will be to finish cutting the trail tread.
If you are interested in helping, please let me know via email. We will park and meet at the Tuckahoe office before hiking to the new trail. All tools will be provided. Please wear sturdy clothes/shoes and bring plenty of water.
Second, this is the time of year when the trails are exploding with new tree growth and grasses. Paul and I have been dreaming on an adopt program. This would entail a volunteer or two adopting a trail to prune back the overgrowth throughout the year on it. If you would be interested in this, let me know.
Let me know if you have any questions and please share this with anyone who may be interested.
Thanks in advance,
--Mark
