Not only is it fun - it's good for you too!!

“People are so inhibited about their voices these days,” says Rachel Dempsey, founder of Singing for Change. “They’re so full of shame because someone once told them they can’t sing. But really, it’s denying people their human right – to sing with others.”

Great music takes a GREAT community!

As SLC Community Choirs begins our 19th season, we're sending a HUGE thank you to the incredible businesses and individuals who have already stepped up to sponsor our 2026–2027 season!

Your generosity helps us do so much more than put on concerts. It helps us create a place where people belong, introduce young singers to the joy of music, work with talented local musicians, and keep our concerts pay what you will so everyone can experience live music.

To our sponsors, THANK YOU! We hope you'll watch the whole way through and show some love to the wonderful businesses and neighbors who are helping keep our community singing!

And guess what? There's still room for YOU!

We're still welcoming sponsors for the 2026–2027 season. Whether you're a local business or an individual who believes in the power of community music, we'd love to have you join our musical family.

Interested? Send us a DM or email [email protected] to learn more!

Because when a community supports music, music gives right back to the community!!

Does your child love to sing? Give them a place to use that voice!

Registration is open for the 2027 SLC Community Choirs Children’s Choral Festival, and we’re looking for young singers in grades 4–8 to join us!

Over six Monday evening rehearsals, singers will learn music, build confidence, make new friends, and prepare for a live performance. But we’re taking the experience beyond just learning the notes!

Throughout the festival, participants will get a behind-the-scenes look at how a musical production comes together. They’ll interact with our adult choir, meet local musicians, learn about different instruments, and explore sound, lighting, technology, and the teamwork that takes music from the rehearsal room to the stage.

Then on Saturday, February 13, we’ll bring everyone together for a full day of learning, rehearsing, and making music before our 4 PM public performance!

The details:
🎶 Grades 4–8
🎶 Six Monday rehearsals, January 4–February 8
🎶 Festival & Performance Day: February 13
🎶 $50 per singer
🎶 Music, festival shirt, lunch & snacks included
🎶 No extensive choir experience required!

If they love to sing, we’d love to hear their voice.

Registration closes November 30, so don’t wait!

Calling all young singers in 4th–8th grade!

Registration is now open for the 2027 SLC Community Choirs Children’s Choral Festival, and this is about so much more than learning a few songs and putting on a concert.

Over six Monday evening rehearsals, our young singers will learn and prepare choral music while discovering what it takes to bring a live musical production to the stage. They’ll have the opportunity to:

* Sing and learn alongside experienced choral musicians
* Meet and learn from local instrumentalists
* Discover how different instruments add to a performance
* Explore the roles of sound, lighting, technology, and backstage production
* Work alongside members of our SLC Community Choirs adult choir
* Put everything together for a live public performance!

Rehearsals run January 4 through February 8, followed by a full Day of Learning on Saturday, February 13, where our singers will spend the day rehearsing, learning, working with musicians and our production team, and preparing for their 4 PM public performance.

The participation fee is $50 per singer and includes all music and program materials, a festival shirt to wear for the performance, lunch and snacks on February 13, and the complete educational and performance experience.

No extensive choir experience is required. If your child loves to sing and wants to learn, we would love to welcome them!

Registration closes November 30. Space is limited, so register your singer today at slccchoirs.com.

Come learn, perform, and discover how music comes to life!

One of our young singers is taking the field tonight!

Abigail Hostetter, who sang with our Joy Unspeakable Children’s Choir last year, will perform the National Anthem at the Solanco Fair tonight at 5 PM!

And she’s carrying on a bit of an SLC Community Choirs tradition! Abigail joins Kennedy Kreider and Eden Hess among the young singers from our choir community who have had the opportunity to perform the National Anthem at the fair.

This one is especially close to our SLC family, too. Abigail is the daughter of one of our adult choir members, Sarah Hostetter, making it another wonderful example of music being shared across generations.

We love seeing our young singers continue to use their voices beyond our own stage. Have a wonderful performance tonight, Abigail! We’ll be cheering you on!

We’re officially part of The Extra Give 2026!

We’re excited to share that SLC Community Choirs has been accepted to participate in The Extra Give on November 20!

When you support SLC Community Choirs during The Extra Give, you’re helping us do so much more than put music on a stage. Your generosity helps us continue bringing high-quality musical experiences to our community while keeping them accessible to everyone.

This season, that includes our Christmas Concert Series, SLC Community Choirs Youth Choral Festival, spring performances, and more. Many of our community concerts are offered on a pay-what-you-will basis because we believe everyone should have the opportunity to experience live music, regardless of their financial circumstances.

And a huge thank you to the organizations and businesses that make this incredible day of giving possible, including the Lancaster County Comm. Found. , High Foundation , Murry Foundation , The Steinman Foundation, Armstrong Ceiling Solutions and all of The Extra Give’s generous prize sponsors. Your investment in Lancaster County nonprofits helps organizations like ours dream bigger and do more for our community.

Save the date for November 20, 2026! We’re excited to show you what your support can make possible.
