You are invited to our Annual Christmas Bazaar on December 6th from 9am to 2pm: Many of the things Americans do today to celebrate the Christmas holidays came about in the 19th century, and Whitehaven was thriving and prosperous during that period. In 1886, the one room school house opened, and in 1892, the Methodist Church was built by local shipwrights. Today, these two sites along with the Village, the Whitehaven Hotel, Ferry, Bolton Plantation, and the Marine Railway and Shipyard are all registered historic sites. Both the historic church with its amazing carpentry, and the historic schoolhouse offers a trip back in time during our holiday event. We offer a menu, complete with our poplar scrapple sandwiches along with other hot foods, coffee, tea, and other beverages, and of course baked goods, including “cornbread.”Venders will offer interesting gift selections and merriment for all. Please follow our event page. Our generous next door neighbor has offered parking on his property, signage will be posted. Please come and enjoy this opportunity to step back in time and our grateful hospitality. We thank you for your interest and support. Merry Christmas to all🎄🍮🥪📦

Whitehaven invites you to their Annual Holloween Ghost Tour on October 18, 2025. Schoolhouse and Church will be open at 6 pm and the Whitehaven Ghost Tour will begin at Dusk. The Delmarva Spirit Hunters will investigate paranormal activity and equipment used do do sonin the Church. Andy Nunez, Eastern Shore Storyteller who relates folklore and history while also writing gripping novels of action and horror. Andy will be telling his stories and tales in the Schoolhouse and will have his books available purchase. Light refreshments will be available in the schoolhouse. A $5 donation would be greatly appreciated.

Tomorrow 9am, Whitehaven opens the season with our traditional spring bazaar and yes Daffodils from historic Bolton Plantation along with foods, plants, crafts, and good old fashion socializing. Weather will be perfect!

Whitehaven aerial photo of the historic village, a close look captures the marine railroad in operation to the left and commercial ships to the right. This picture was gifted by Bob Sheehan Sr of Whitehaven and will be displayed in our Historic Schoolhouse/Museum. We reopen with our traditional Spring Event on April 19th, 9am-2pm. Over the winter we have worked hard to clean and refresh the interior. Please check our Event Page for more details. And, please share with your family and friends.
