This Thanksgiving, the Tacoma Rescue Mission is calling on the community to come together in an extraordinary act of compassion and care. With over 100,000 Pierce County residents recently losing government food assistance, the need for meals and support has never been greater.

To meet this growing challenge, the Tacoma Rescue Mission and the Tacoma Dome will host a massive community Thanksgiving dinner, aiming to serve more than 1,000 individuals and families who are struggling during this season of gratitude.

We are asking for urgent support to make this event and ongoing care possible:

- Donate Financially: Every dollar helps provide meals and care. Give at https://trm.org/meals
- Donate Food: Drop off Thanksgiving staples and other food items at 425 South Tacoma Way (Mon. - Sun., 6:00 am – 6:00 pm).
- Donate Items: Cold-weather gear and hygiene essentials can be delivered to our Donation Center at 504 S 30th St (Mon. - Sat., 9:00 am – 5:00 pm).
- Volunteer: Sign up to help prep food, serve meals, and care for guests at the Tacoma Dome for Thanksgiving Dinner at https://www.trm.org/volunteer

Our Thanksgiving Community Dinner will be on Thanksgiving day, 11/27/25, from 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm at the Tacoma Dome. Please help spread the word to our friends on the street, families and individuals facing food insecurity, and anyone who is left wondering where they will get their next meal this holiday.

This is more than a meal, it’s an opportunity to restore hope and dignity for our neighbors in need. Together, we can make Thanksgiving a day of warmth, community, and gratitude.

We also want to highlight and share our overwhelming gratitude with the Tacoma Dome for offering their space at no cost to make this community meal possible.

With the anticipated interruption of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) due to the federal government shutdown, more families in our community may face food insecurity.

Gov. Ferguson has directed $2.2 million per week in state funding to support food banks across Washington so that food distribution resources remain accessible.

If you or someone you know may be affected:
📲 Call 2-1-1 to get connected with free community services and supports.
🍎 Visit PierceCountyWa.gov/FoodBanks for information on local food banks.

If you’re in a position to help, consider donating time or resources to a local food bank. Together we can support our neighbors during this challenging time.

There’s a pop-up food bank today from 10 AM to 3 PM at the Tacoma Dome.

SSFDD happens on the first Saturday of May and serves as our way of giving back to the community by doing what we do best. Dentistry! The best part? It is COMPLETELY FREE! None of our patients will receive a bill for their care on SSFDD.

How does it work?

😢 Heaven has gained an angel. Bill is with Jesus now and being welcomed by many just like he has done here in Puyallup, at The New Hope Resource Center. At NHRC, a day center for the unsheltered in East Pierce County, Bill was the first face they would see, as he would welcome and greet those in need for over the last 10+ years. He will be greatly missed. Rest in Peace Bill.
