Communities In Schools of Puyallup is an affiliate in the nation’s largest and leading dropout prevention organization. Our goal is to ensure that all students in Puyallup, Washington are equipped with the resources and support they need to stay in school and succeed in life. Our organization works within the public school system, working closely with the school staff to identify student needs. By

establishing connections and coordinating the resources of diverse community partners-local businesses, social service agencies, health care providers, and parent and volunteer organizations-we are able to provide and broker programs and services essential to student success.

School Supply Sorting
Help sort mountains of donated school supplies that will be distributed to Puyallup students. Great for volunteers of all ages!

THE RESULTS ARE IN!

5,133.43 pounds. 32 community partners. Countless students supported.

The numbers tell an amazing story, but the real impact will be seen in classrooms throughout our community this school year.

Through our partnership with Red Canoe Credit Union, the Fill the Canoe Back to School Drive collected an incredible 5,133.43 pounds of school supplies for local students.

To make the impact even greater, Red Canoe Credit Union matched every pound of supplies collected, matched all monetary donations, and added contributions from a drive organized by their employees. Their generosity resulted in an $8,348 donation to support students and families.

We are deeply grateful to the 32 community partners who hosted collection sites and to everyone who donated. Thank you for helping ensure students have the supplies they need to start the year ready to learn and succeed.

We had an amazing time this year at Hope Encounter! Thank you so much to Newhope South Hill for organizing everything and allowing us to be a part of it. Because of the generous support of our community (ALL OF YOU WONDERFUL PEOPLE), we were able to provide school supplies for 571 students. A special shout out to all of our amazing volunteers who were absolute champs in helping us! We can't wait for next year! And thank you to Nicole Kaiser for putting together this video!
