The last of this school years BPK bags have been delivered, thanks to Rambo Total Pest Control♥️

It is with a very heavy heart that I announce this was our last school year providing bags of food to our local kids in need. Unfortunately, the last few years of the pandemic, not holding fundraisers in person, costs rising met with rising needs, and in general being a small Non Profit … finally caught up to us.

However, despite the unfortunate end of this venture that has completely filled my heart, my mind, time, and ALWAYS my garage and pantry … I can’t help but be so proud and grateful when I look back at starting from a closet in my home. Always a constant rally of community to help in every way possible. All for the kids in need, in our very own backyards.

If you see something wrong in our world that stays on your heart, you can CHANGE IT. Always be the good in the world.

Thank you Backpack Kid Village, from the bottom of my heart. Not only have you all changed so many little lives, but you have forever changed mine as well. ♥️

Hello BPK Village ♥️ It’s been a while since I’ve updated the BPK Village. Truth be told it’s been primarily due to the uncertainties of what the future held for us.

As everyone knows the Pandemic has taken it toll on MANY entities. While I am so humbled to say that during 20/21 we were able to serve the greatest needs we ever have, it’s been by far the most trying times. It took SO MANY people coming together to make that happen.
Big picture: the Pandemic caught up to us. We have had to scale back and were not even sure until VERY recently if we would be able to serve this coming school year to the smaller population we were hoping to. As you can imagine, this has been an incredibly sorrowful, worry and transition.
Luckily for the Backpack Kids, we have some amazing community businesses that have come to our rescue. The kids rescue, really.

Sonja Noski, Steve Hurter, Mike Hurter and your teams… THANK YOU a million times over. ♥️ Grocery Outlet & The Hurter Team

My gratitude for anyone who shopped, attended the fundraisers held, helped support, PayPal’s, Amazon Smiled, Facebook fundraiser, donated to us … is something we are forever indebted for. You all are what are keeping the ability to serve our kids, achievable! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, and our Backpack Kid Babes, bellies. ♥️

Last Monday, these brave and selfless souls, stood outside for the “Fill The Cruiser” event and collected donations for Backpack Kids & Metro Animal Shelter.
One generous car after another, let me tell you... it was HUMBLING. Over 1,300lbs of food and $435 was collected for Backpack Kids! THANK YOU to all who came by and were able to donate to our kiddos, and the animals in need.
A HUGE thanks to Puyallup Police Department, Ferrucci Junior High Community Service Club (and the parents that let these kids participate), Kiwanis Club of Daffodil Valley, and Daniel Spicer who is a pivotal part of all of this but would never take any credit ♥️... You all are appreciated beyond measure.

Those of you that know The Rambo Family, KNOW. They are kind, true, humble, hard working, generous people. For Christmas, Tera Rambo asked for her only gifts to be donations to Backpack Kids from her family. Along with a donation from Rambo Total Pest Control, their family business .... to say we were incredibly HUMBLED, and grateful is an understatement. Thank you for ALL of your support Rambo Fam. Forever grateful!
