🚨URGENT 🚨 OFS is critically low on kitten food. As we reopen this week, we are caring for 28 kittens and we have more incoming tomorrow. It has been six months since OFS put out a plea for kitten food. Our shelves are nearly empty. Wetfood is almost totally gone.

If you have ever considered donating, now is the time! It is SO easy to just pick up a single bag of food on Amazon. A bag feeds the entire cat building for three days. A box of wetfood feeds 28 kittens for two days - Super easy and always fun to help restock the shelves

Every can of food, every bag of food allows us say “yes” to another cat/kitten in need. Thank you for helping us care for all these babes. We could not do this work without you! And as always, if there is any kitten food leftover, you know that OFS will be supporting the local rescues. Thank you! ❤️🙌

Due to unusual bear activity, the Wonderland Trail is temporarily closed between Narada Falls Trail and Stevens Canyon Road.

As a reminder, If you encounter a black bear:

- Stay calm and alert.
- Do not approach the bear. If the bear is just doing bear things, keep your distance and stand quietly.
- If the bear stops, watches you, or changes direction toward you, you’re too close.
- Back away slowly while facing the bear. Never run.

If a black bear approaches or follows you:

- Stand your ground. Do not run or turn your back.
- Shout and act aggressively to scare it off, and make yourself look big by raising your arms or lifting your trekking poles into the air.
- Throw non‑food objects (like rocks or sticks) at the bear only if necessary.
- Never feed a bear or leave food behind.
- Use bear spray only as a last resort and only if the bear is within 20 yards.

If a black bear attacks you:

-Fight back. Do not play dead.
