June is PTSD Awareness Month. We recognize the invisible wounds many firefighters carry long after the call is over.
Behind every helmet is a person who has seen, heard, and experienced things most never will. Some battles don’t end when the sirens go silent.
If you or someone you know is struggling, support is available.

Today, your Pierce County Firefighters are proud to stand alongside our brothers and sisters with the Washington State Nurses Association during their informational picket in Puyallup.

These healthcare professionals show up every day to care for our communities, and they deserve a fair contract that reflects the work they do.

This informational picket does not impact emergency services at Good Samaritan Hospital. Your firefighters and healthcare workers remain committed to serving our community.

The right to advocate for fair working conditions is a fundamental principle of organized labor and democracy. We appreciate the continued support for all frontline professionals serving our communities every day.

This Memorial Day, your Pierce County Firefighters honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. Their sacrifice, and the sacrifice carried by their families, will never be forgotten.

Today, we pause to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy because of those who answered the call to serve and made the ultimate sacrifice defending them. We also keep the families of our fallen heroes close in our thoughts.

Our deepest condolences go out to the members of the Boston Fire Department, along with the family, friends, and loved ones of Firefighter Robert “Bobby” Kilduff Jr. following his tragic line of duty death.

Firefighter Kilduff dedicated 24 years of service to the people of Boston, making the ultimate sacrifice while battling a 3-alarm fire.

From the members of the Pierce County Firefighters, we stand with our brothers and sisters in Boston during this heartbreaking time.

The fire service in Pierce County has a proud history built by generations of firefighters who answered the call before us.

From Orting Valley Fire and Graham Fire to Central Pierce and Puyallup, these names represent decades of service, sacrifice, and commitment to our communities. While departments and districts may evolve over time, the mission remains the same, protecting lives, serving our neighbors, and always being there when people need us most.

Here’s to another week of serving Pierce County with pride. Stay safe out there.

Today, on National Peace Officers Memorial Day, we pause to honor the law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities, and to recognize those who continue to put on the badge every day in service to others.

Our members are proud to work side by side with the dedicated professionals of the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department, Washington State Patrol, Puyallup Police Department, Eatonville Police Department, Orting Police Department, and the Puyallup Tribal Police Department.

These photos are from our Arrive Alive program, where first responders come together to help students understand the real-life consequences of impaired and distracted driving. It’s a powerful reminder that behind every uniform is someone committed to protecting lives, supporting families, and serving the community.

Thank you to all of our law enforcement partners for your professionalism, sacrifice, and commitment to public safety. We are honored to stand alongside you.
