Throwback to the very beginning of Whale Trust's use of drones for our research. This is an early custom built drone, that we had made before drones were commonly used in marine mammal research. This drone opened up a world of opportunity for where we could take this type of study, unfortunately this particular drone sank and was not with us for very long.

That's a wrap on our Alaska Photo Expeditions 2026!

We had some outstanding days on the water with bubble-net feeding galore and a number of perfect breaches.

We miss Lāhainā Harbor 🖤 August 8 marked the 3 year anniversary of the Lāhainā Fire. Our hearts are with our community as we remember the beauty of our town and its people.

We are the biggest fans of the Malihini Holo () Team! This mother-son duo from Switzerland just took part in .toughest.row this summer. They rowed 2,800 miles from Monterey, California to Hanalei Bay, Kauai. The voyage took Judith and Sandro 45 days.

Before they headed out on their journey, Judith and Sandro picked Whale Trust to be their charity for the race. They said, "The race takes us across the ocean. The engagement with this sensitive habitat was an important aspect of our final decision to donate all surplus income, as well as the proceeds from the boat sale, to Whale Trust."
