Putnam II LEO Club

Leadership. Experience. Opportunity. These are just a few of the rewards young people gain from participating in Leos.

The Putnam II LEO Club, sponsored by the Putnam Lions Club, welcomes local teens ages 12-18 who are interested in having fun, making new friends and experiences. They also happen to be the values that create the acronym of our club name. In the last year, Putnam LEOs have performed countless hours of community service - we work with area organizations like the Putnam
Family Resource Center, Interf

aith Human Services of Putnam and have our own plot in the Community Garden. Leos also learn to be great leaders - raising money to give back to the community, improving membership and raising awareness about the club.

The Leo’s will be selling water for $2.00 tonight at the concert and river fire located at rotary park in Putnam. Your support is greatly appreciated. All proceeds are donated back to communities. Hope to see you there.

The Leo Award of Honor recognizes outstanding Leo members for their achievements. This award is specifically designed to honor a Leo who has made significant contributions during the year and is nominated by their peers. This year’s recipients for the Putnam II Leo Club were Ben Arters and Sophie Godzik.
Congratulations Ben and Sophie.

The Al “Chief” Cormier Starfish Award was given to Ben Arters for his dedication to leadership and community service. Thanks for making a difference! Chief would be proud!

The Putnam II Leo club logged over 1000 hours of community service this Leo year. Reporting 100+ hours were Brooke Mayo, Benjamin Arters, Sophie Godzik and Nicholas Devlin (missing from top picture).
Reporting 50+ hours were Abigail Biggs, Paige Perry, Owen LePage and Emily Bourque (middle picture).
Reporting 25+ hours were Emma Long, Haleigh Lynch, Avah Grimshaw, Ella Wesolowski, Makenna Faucher, Ayla Daniels and Samantha Bourque (bottom picture).
Recognition certificates were given by Leo adviser Carole Peters. Congratulations to all. We serve!

The Putnam II Leo Club been collecting aluminum pop tabs from soda cans/soup cans from the community and donating them to the Ronald McDonald House of Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. The money earned from the recyclable tabs allow the Ronald McDonald House to keep families close to their children while being treated in their hospitals.

Last week 19 pounds of these tabs were given to the Ronald McDonald House by the Leo’s. Many thanks to those in the community who collect these tabs for us. If you are interested in helping out this Leo service event, contact me for details.

A simple act of kindness can brighten someone's day. 🌷

Earlier this week, the Putnam II Leo's Club stopped by DKH as part of their "Community Kindness" campaign to share flowers and positive affirmations with our staff in appreciation for all they do.

The tulips, each tied with a bow and uplifting note were made available to staff in our cafeteria.

Thank you to Brooke Mayo, President of the Putnam II Leo’s Club and Ben Arters, Board of Directors member, along with their lead advisor, Mary Ann Pezanko for spreading kindness throughout our community and reminding our team how appreciated they are. 💙
