In just three weeks, Crotona Park’s tennis courts have been resurfaced! Kids from the NYJTL program joined Mayor Zohran Mamdani to reopen the park.

Through the NYC Parks Adopt-A-Park program, USTA Foundation and Yonex USA partnered up to fund the court refurbishment project.

Being the only tennis courts in the Bronx with lights, these courts are well loved by the community and this project will have an impact for years to come!

Happy 99th birthday to the legendary Althea Gibson!

East Orange, N.J. is keeping her legacy alive with their annual tournament where she lived for over 20 years and served as Director of Recreation.

In 1950, she made history right here in N.Y. at Forest Hills by breaking the color barrier at the U.S. National Championships. Her courage, skill, and unstoppable determination changed the game forever and paved the way for generations of athletes to come.

US Open Fan Week is bringing the energy to Queens! 🗽🎾

While Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day and free grounds access are a blast, the true hidden gem of the week is the US Open Qualifying Tournament. It’s your chance to watch world-class, high-stakes tennis up close and personal before the main event even begins.

We’re cheering extra loud for our local Eastern players taking the courts:
• Michael Antonius (Buffalo, N.Y.) in qualifying
• Jack Kennedy (Huntington, N.Y.) in main draw
• Michael Zheng 4 (Montville, N.J.) in main draw

Head out to Flushing Meadows this week to catch the qualifying action and support our local talent on the big stage!

This is exactly what grassroots tennis looks like. From post-work play, to weekend matches, the public park tennis scene is the best it’s been in a long time.

Where are you hitting this week? Tag or name your home courts in the comments so we can see where everyone is playing!
