Charlotte County’s Local Program Partner for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library® — mailing FREE books every month to children from birth to age five to inspire a love of reading. Inspiration & Imagination

Other Fundamental Themes of Regard:

Love of reading and learning; regard for diversity of people, their roles, culture, and environment; promotion of self-esteem and confidence, appreciation of art and aesthetics. Each series of books should contain certain characteristics specific to their age appropriateness including:

Year 1

Vision - bright, big, colorful
Touch - board pages
Rhyme and rhythm
Simple - easy to use
Minimal text - point and say

Nurture - attachment- lullaby themes

Year 2

Continue concepts from year one and build upon them

If you want something fun to do with the family, our friends at the American Legion Post #103 are doing a Trunk or Treat along with the Charlotte County Fire Department, Punta Gorda Police Department and The Conquistadors. You can participate in the Trunk or Treat by decorating your vehicle and passing out candy or just bring the kiddos to do a little Trunk or Treating. Saturday, October 24th. Come join the fund!!!

We are bursting with gratitude today! On October 10, our Executive Director, Gaylin Morris, accepted an incredibly generous $500 donation from the wonderful folks at the American Legion Post 103 right here in Punta Gorda!

Every single dollar helps us keep the magic alive. This wonderful gift will go directly toward funding books for our registered children, helping us ensure that early childhood literacy continues to thrive in our community. It costs money to mail these high-quality books to our sweet little readers each month, and we truly could not do it without the hearts of local organizations like the American Legion.
