When every second counts, quick recognition and exceptional care can make all the difference. ❤️🚑

Thank you to HCA Florida Englewood Hospital for visiting Station 13 to recognize Firefighter/EMT Condenzio and Firemedic Garcia for their outstanding care during a recent STEMI, a severe type of heart attack caused by a complete blockage of blood flow to the heart.

Their quick recognition and timely intervention helped ensure the patient received critical care, and just a few days later, the patient was discharged home.

We are grateful for our hospital partners and the teamwork that helps provide exceptional care to our community every day.

We are proud to announce that Chief Smith was officially sworn in as the Secretary-Treasurer of the Florida Police Chiefs Association during today’s Installation Luncheon.

As we gather to celebrate Jay's life, service, and sacrifice, we invite our extended fire family, friends, and community to join us virtually as we give our brother his Last Alarm.

Following the service, members of the public are encouraged to safely line the procession route to pay their respects as Jay is escorted through the community he served for more than 35 years.

Join us in recognizing National Police Week 2026, which runs from Sunday, May 10, to Saturday, May 16, 2026, with Peace Officers Memorial Day on Friday, May 15. The week features events in Washington, D.C., including the Annual Candlelight Vigil on May 13 to honor fallen officers. These events are designed not only to honor law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty but also to support surviving families and recognize those currently serving.

Punta Gorda Police Department Chaplain Father Brad Barco shared the following message with the officers.
“I would like to thank all my brothers and sisters in the Punta Gorda Police Department for their continued service and dedication to the residents of the City of Punta Gorda, FL.”
"I pray to our Heavenly Father to look down on each of you with His loving, caring arms. May He protect you when your shift begins, guide you throughout your day, and bring you home safely when your tour of duty ends."
