GFWC Punta Gorda Woman's Club funding for the scholarships is mostly raised by hosting a Cantina in conjunction with the City of Punta Gorda's Sullivan Street Fair. Our club's front doors are open, inviting shoppers inside to partake of the member donated goods, soups and sandwiches we have for sale. Deb Worthington and her committee did an excellent job of coordinating this event. Deb's famous recipe for Sloppy Joes was shared with Holly Gunsher to make the biggest batch ever! Marjorie Minucci, 2nd vice-president, seized the opportunity to recruit new members.

Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte clubs working together for GFWC Florida President's Project - Bears for Boggy Creek!
Ladies, you are awesome!!!!

Members of the GFWC-Punta Gorda Woman's Club enjoyed a half-day of "sip and sew", making bears for the Boggy Creek project. A bunch of dedicated ladies from our Club and neighboring Port Charlotte's Club showed up with patterns, scissors, fabric, sewing machines and paraphernalia to collaborate in this fun event, including a bag lunch.

At least three handsome bears were completed, and many more are in progress.
