Happy Birthday, Anne Elliot! 🍰💙🎉 According to the first page of Jane Austen's posthumous novel, "Persuasion," Anne was born in 9 August 1787. Today also happens to be National Book Lovers Day, which, to be honest, many of us celebrate every day! 📚 Obviously lovers of books have a great opportunity to justify buying more books! What books do you love lately?

It's National Lighthouse Day! We don't know if Jane Austen ever saw a lighthouse, but since a couple of her brothers were in the Navy, she was no doubt aware how important they are in keeping ships and sailors safe.

One lighthouse built during the Regency Period, while Jane was alive, is the Bell Rock Lighthouse, near eastern Scotland.
