Companion Animal Club WSU

Companion Animal Club WSU Dedicated to helping animals in the local community. In the 16-17 school year we are working closely with the Whitman Humane Society to stock the shelter.

The Companion Animal Club is committed to being an undergraduate club focused on companion animal topics such as health, care, education, animal human relations, and activities. The club is a way to meet others interested in companion animals and as a club will be able to provide an outlet in which to express that interest. iscuss we hope to enrich the members in all that pertains to companion animals. Special points of interest:

Hamsters
Rats/ Mice
Guinea Pigs
Bunnies / Rabbits

Humane Society, Palouse Dog Park, etc. Involvement

Hello everyone! CAC has decided to not pursue having meetings this semester. With fewer available volunteering opportunities due to COVID, we figured it would be difficult for our members to keep interest in our club. We will post updates from time-to-time based on COVID-related announcements sent out by WSU and hopefully we can resume in-person meetings in spring semester. Feel free to message us about any questions you have, especially about volunteering!

Hi everyone! The officers have decided to not continue with meetings for the rest of the semester to keep everyone's health and safety in mind. We have also cancelled our Walmart fundraiser and will no longer have designated volunteering times for Orphan Acres. If you wish to go out to OA and one of the officers is in town/comfortable taking you, feel free to contact them as long as you are not sick!

Our officer elections for next year (fall + spring semester) will be conducted over email. If you want to run for any of the available positions (President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer) please send us a message on FB or to our email [email protected] with a small speech describing why you want to run. The officers will vote on one candidate for each position based on your past experience & interest in helping the club. Send your speech to us by late April and we will get back to those of you who won.

Hi everyone! Friendly reminder that we will have our next meeting tomorrow Feb. 18th at 6pm. We will be having Dr. Oleyar, an avian conservationist who works at Hawk Watch International, come and talk to us about his career working with birds!

Hi everyone, just a friendly reminder that we will be having our first meeting of the semester today at 6pm in Clark 147. We will be doing an icebreaker activity and talk about our club plans for the semester.

The meeting dates are now posted on our page! They are at the top by the pinned post, where you found our meeting schedule for last semester. We are still alternating every other Tuesday/Wednesday to prevent overlap with pre-vet club. However, our meeting times have changed to 6:00 instead of 6:30. This is to help our members get home sooner especially during winter.

Hello everyone! We hope that you all had a wonderful break and got a chance to rest. We will be announcing our schedule for spring semester meetings sometime during this week. However, we will not be having a meeting this week due to wanting our members to get allocated comfortably with their classes first. Hello everyone! We hope that you all had a relaxing break. Our last meeting of the semester will be this Wednesday Dec. 4th at 6:30pm. We will be having a relaxing movie + craft-making night to de-stress before finals week. Hope to see you there!

Hi everyone! At tomorrow's meeting we will be having an Animal Trivia Game Night with Martin! There will be Starbucks gift cards for prizes and some popcorn for snacks. We will also be finalizing the details for our Walmart fundraiser this Friday. See you at Clark 147 tomorrow at 6:30pm for a fun night!
