The Emergency Department is not just an entry point to the hospital. It is where lives are stabilized, answers begin, and hope is restored. For many members of the community, the Emergency Department is a gateway for care.

Donors like Sue Schell understand this deeply, and it was at the Pullman Regional Emergency Department where her husband, Gary, received life-saving care. In honor of that care and in memory of her husband, a room will be named for Gary Schell in the new Emergency Department.

Ken Casavant recently honored Dr. Jeff Ward, Family Medicine Physician at the WSU Family Medicine Residency Program, with a Guardian Angel Award. "Dr. Ward is thorough, well-trained, and full of experience," says Casavant. "He's the personification of what a family doctor should be." Ken also shares that, at his age, his doctor's visits have also become his wife's doctor's visits, so Dr. Ward is their family doctor in the truest sense of the word. "We can ask him about anything; he's like our friend."
