Congratulations to Katherine as OTM's 2026 Volunteer Hero. Thank you for all you do for us!
" Organ Transplant Maui is proud to nominate the newest support group volunteer member, Katherine Patricio as a Volunteer Hero! Katherine has been faithfully attending monthly meetings in 2025 in person or via Zoom. She is an active member in discussions and offers helpful suggestions of how OTM can continue to help others in our Maui community regarding the organ transplant process.
Katherine has shared her story of her journey dealing with the challenges with home dialysis or hemodialysis and her path going on the wait list for a kidney transplant with our support group. Through her many ups and downs, she compiled a list of events of her own struggles and successes at our support group meetings in hopes that it may be shared and help others learn about what she is facing. She in turn has been an excellent role model to offer to work with others going through similar situations.
As part of our OTM support group family she has become an excellent example of courage and resiliency to overcome life struggles as she continues on her goal of a kidney transplant. We are very honored to have Katherine receive this recognition as OTM's Volunteer Hero!"
