You are not behind.
You are being built.
Some walls go up fast,
but foundations take longer
because they have to hold weight.
God is not rushed by what feels late to you.
He is not confused by detours,
not intimidated by damage,
not discouraged by the parts of you
still under construction.
What feels like delay
might actually be mercy.
What feels like pressure
might be strengthening.
What feels like silence
might be the sound of deep work underground.

Stay faithful in the hidden place.
Swing the hammer one more time.
Say yes one more time.
Pray one more prayer.
Tell the truth one more time.
A house that will shelter others
has to be built to last.
“And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”
James 1:4

As we close out the year, Iron House Indian Bend is preparing to serve up to 8 women and children in Pueblo as they work toward stability, healing, and independence.

We still have critical year-end needs:

• Bedding & household essentials
• Rent scholarships – $650 per month, per resident
• A donated vehicle (van or car) to help residents get to work, job interviews, appointments, and recovery meetings

Iron House Indian Bend operates under Iron House Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and all donations are tax-deductible. Every gift goes directly toward meeting real, immediate needs and helping women and families move forward.

O Little Town of Bessemer Round 3

It started with a hymn rewrite and a simple wreath. A reminder that Light always shines in the dark.
Last week we added more lights. Today, even more. Each time, the glow gets stronger.

Bessemer has carried weight for generations with a rich history of industry, labor, gain, loss, love, family, addiction, poverty, and resilience all layered into the same streets. Hebrews 12:1–2 reminds us that we are not alone in this work:

“Since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders… and run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus.”

This neighborhood is surrounded by a cloud of witnesses — men and women who have labored, loved, prayed, and endured across generations, and who still do today. Their faith reminds us that God is not finished here. We add light where they stand, continuing the race together, fixing our eyes on Jesus — the One who heals, restores, and makes all things new.

As we close out this year, we’re inviting partners to run with us. Your end-of-year gift helps us keep the lights on — literally and spiritually — as we serve, rebuild, disciple, and walk alongside people in this community with love, compassion, and truth.

If you believe God is still at work in Bessemer, we’d be honored to have you partner with us here:

Round 2 -
We do what we can with the time we have. We aren’t chasing man’s approval, we’re choosing faithfulness.

What can we do for the man who is still sick but show them how, or more importantly, Who, saved us?

He gave us the instructions.
We let our light shine. Not when it’s perfectly hung.
Not when every bulb is working.
Even when time runs short and the strand is incomplete, we let it shine anyway. Are we helping replace bulbs or throwing up bushels ?

Matthew 5:15–16

“Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket… In the same way, let your light shine before others.”

More to come-For this is a process!

O Little Town of Bessemer- Hymn Rewrite

Verse 1
O little town of Bessemer,
How still your stories lie;
Where steel once roared and families poured
Their sweat beneath the sky.
Your furnaces burned brightly,
Your labor shaped the West;
Yet poverty and shadows came
Where once Your people blessed.

Verse 2
But in your quiet neighborhoods,
Where sorrow’s lingered long,
The same great Light that pierced the night
Now fills your streets with song.
For Christ who came to save us
Still walks where broken stand;
His healing love, His rising power
Can lift this weary land.

Verse 3
Your past still whispers through the mills,
Old brick and iron beams;
The echoes of our fathers’ faith,
Their prayers, their shattered dreams.
Yet God, who dwelt in Mary,
Still births new life today;
His Spirit hovers over you
Let darkness flee away.

Verse 4
O Holy God of Bessemer,
Descend on us, we pray;
Restore the hearts of Pueblo’s sons,
Give wandering souls their way.
Awake our streets with mercy
Let every burden fall;
Revive this city by Your grace—
Redeem and heal us all.

Verse 5
From Bethlehem to Bessemer,
Your love remains the same;
A Savior born for every town
Still calls us each by name.
So may Your peace spread quickly,
Your glory now revealed;
O Christ, appear in Bessemer
Our town restored and healed.
