Shoutout to our friend, a true champion for our fish, rivers, and cold watersheds , Lindsay Martin with Pueblo Parks and Recreation and Pueblo Friends of the Arkansas River for stepping up and raising the bar!

Lindsey took charge and pulled that traffic barrel (pictured in the river in our post from yesterday) and returned it to its rightful place- on asphalt away from the river. Be a champion like Lindsey, remove what doesn’t belong in our rivers when you can!

Not a bad way to end the last evening of the summer. 70°F with a good breeze, some grass carp, and a great blue heron.

And yes, that is a traffic drum in the river- this is our reality in our urban waters. We will come prepared to hop in and remove it tomorrow. - so be that champion!

Join us at Lake Pueblo State Park for an introduction to the basics of fly fishing, presented by members of the Pueblo Tailwater Renegades Club!

The program will begin with an informative presentation covering the fundamentals of fly fishing, followed by a casting demonstration and hands-on instruction in other essential fly fishing skills and techniques.

Equipment and materials will be provided, so no experience or gear is necessary! If you already have your own fly-fishing equipment, feel free to bring it along and practice with your own gear.

Whether you're brand new to fly fishing or looking to brush up on your skills, come learn the basics and discover what makes this sport so much fun!
