To empower survivors of domestic violence, family abuse, sexual assault, and human trafficking through increasing self-sufficiency, self-worth, education, prevention, victim advocacy, and by offering emergency services, provisions, and shelter. Originally founded in 1914 as the YWCA of Pueblo, Mariposa Center for Safety's purpose is to reduce the incidence of domestic violence, sexual assault, hum

an trafficking and empower women and their families. The Mariposa Center for Safety delivers intervention and prevention services through provision of safe, confidential shelter, case management, domestic violence education, court accompaniment, advocacy, and community referral. The three predominate goals of the Mariposa Center for Safety services are: (1) to operate a comprehensive domestic violence intervention and prevention program that protects the safety of those affected by domestic and sex violence and their children. (2) To raise awareness and educate the community about domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking and help minimize the incidence of such violence.
