Good morning!
I’m reaching out personally to ask for your support of this year’s Heart of Pueblo luncheon on November 12th. ❤️ This event means so much to me because it supports the mental wellness of our community and the incredible work our Mental Wellness Program is doing throughout Pueblo and Colorado.

Mental health touches all of us, whether we see it or not, and the work being done to bring awareness, provide support, and remind people they aren’t alone is so important. I’m proud of what we’re building in our community, and I would love for you to be part of it!

If you’re able, please consider purchasing a ticket to attend the luncheon and/or donating an item for our silent auction. Every ticket purchased and every donation helps us continue this important work and make a difference in the lives of people in our community.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for considering supporting this mission. Every bit of support truly matters, and together, we can continue creating a community where mental wellness matters and no one has to struggle alone. ❤️

-Tonya Johnson, SoCo Mental Wellness Program Manager with Spark and Chair of the Mental Wellness Task Force/Youth Mental Wellness Task Force of SoCo.

đź‘‹ Meet our Mental Wellness Program Volunteer: Genevieve Gonzales đź’š

She serves as the Co-Chair of the Mental Wellness Task Force of SoCo, leads the planning and coordination of Pueblo’s Annual Su***de Memory Walk, and provides regular QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Su***de Prevention Trainings.

For the past three years, she has also facilitated in-person Su***de Loss Support Groups, creating safe and supportive spaces for individuals grieving the loss of a loved one to su***de.

A heartfelt thank you to Dragon's Lair Tattoo and Carl Barney for their incredibly generous donation to the Mental Wellness Program with Spark through the Nicole Lynn Memorial Fundraiser.

This fundraiser was created in loving memory of Carl’s daughter, Nicole Lynn, whose life was tragically lost to su***de. Turning such profound loss into an opportunity to help others is a beautiful way to honor Nicole’s memory and legacy.

Carl, thank you for allowing Nicole’s story and memory to help bring hope, connection, and mental health support to others in our community. Your generosity will make a meaningful difference in the lives of people who may be struggling and need to know they are not alone.

To everyone at Dragon’s Lair Tattoo, thank you for standing alongside Carl and supporting this important work.

Nicole’s life mattered. Her memory matters. And through this generosity, her legacy will continue to make a difference.

SEPTEMBER & OCTOBER: LET’S TURN AWARENESS INTO ACTION

The next two months are filled with opportunities to learn, connect, support one another, and make a difference.

SEPTEMBER — SU***DE AWARENESS & PREVENTION

Join us for 2 upcoming QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Su***de Prevention Trainings designed to give community members the knowledge and confidence to recognize warning signs, start a conversation, and connect someone to help. The first QPR is this FRIDAY! Get Registered! FLYER BELOW!

Take your training one step further! Our second QPR training will be combined with a Safe Storage Kit Build THIS SATURDAY. Participants will learn QPR while also having the opportunity to participate in a safe storage kit build, creating practical tools that can help reduce access to lethal means. FLYER BELOW!
..you don't have to be a mental health professional to make a difference. You just have to be willing to notice, ask, listen, and connect.

OCTOBER — DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH

We will kick off October with a special Community Evening of Awareness, Connection & Hope, featuring Teresa Baros, survivor of domestic violence and a powerful voice for healing and prevention.

Teresa will share her story and help us begin a month focused on increasing awareness, challenging the cycle of violence, supporting survivors, and creating healthier communities! She will also be helping to kickoff a 6-week psychoeducational co-ed in person group that will focus on Domestic Violence. Child Care will also be provided! Limited spots! Get Registered! FLYER BELOW!

Whether you are a professional, survivor, family member, community member, first responder, veteran, educator, youth, or simply someone who cares…there is a place for you in this conversation.

Together, we can create communities where people feel seen, supported, safe, and never alone.
