Zion National Park is expanding trail access with a new free all-terrain wheelchair lending program for visitors with disabilities, mobility challenges, or temporary injuries. Supported by the Zion Forever Project, the program offers an Extreme Motus wheelchair on a first-come, first-served basis at the Zion Canyon Visitor Center. Rentals are limited to one day, and reservations are not available.

Visitors and their assistants must complete a waiver and training and provide identification and insurance before checkout. Since the wheelchair cannot fit on Zion’s shuttle buses, users receive an accessibility pass to park along Zion Canyon Scenic Drive during shuttle season. The chair can be used on trails including Cable Mountain, Chinle, and Riverside Walk, but is not permitted on Angels Landing, Zion Narrows, or Upper Emerald Pools.

Broomfield opens its first housing complex for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Denver7's North Metro Reporter Maggie Bryan was at the grand opening of The Grove at Cottonwood, a new housing complex for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Broomfield.

If you’re looking to attend the State Fair this year, there are some great ADA strides the State is taking to make the experience accessible to more people. 💜

Colorado is at its best when everyone can participate in the traditions that bring us together. This year’s Colorado State Fair is expanding accessibility for guests with disabilities through free on-demand ASL and visual interpretation, mobility upgrades, the Exceptional Rodeo, and a Sensory Friendly Day with smaller crowds, softer sounds, and dimmed lighting. I’m grateful to everyone helping Coloradans of all abilities feel welcomed, included, and free to enjoy the Fair at their own pace.
