Make checks out to VVRF In early 2014 a group of people wanted to help care for horses at Holly Hills Ranch Forgotten Horse Sanctuary. The Ranch Forgotten Renaissance Team was initially formed by a group of horse lovers that united to help Valley View Ranch Equine Rescue provide a loving home for horses that had been injured in their service to man, or had an illness, both of which excluded them f

rom obtaining an immediate forever home. Some requiring significant rehabilitation at our peaceful site, some requiring permanent sanctuary. These horses will be blessed with many people serving their needs as they, in return provide insights to horse behavior and serenity for people who need their magic touch. Our parent organization is Valley View Ranch Equine Rescue (501c3 non-profit) in King City, owned and operated by Marlene Dodge, Founder and President. The cast: Valley View Equine Rescued horses since 1985! Ed Mitchell a horse person extraordinaire provided sanctuary for horses from 2003-August 2015. Ranch Forgotten Renaissance Team caring for horses since the late 80’s. All united to create a winning situation for the horses and humans alike. The Ranch Forgotten legacy continues (starting September 2015) at our new location here in the rolling hills of North Monterey County. Our page at: www.facebook.com/ValleyViewRanchEquineRescueRanchForgotten is an extension of our serene ranch and outreach programs. Wonder Wood Ranch invites the community to its upcoming “Teach and Tails” Open House, a special event showcasing the meaningful partnership between Central Coast College’s Veterinary Assistant Program and the ranch’s mission to bring hope, healing, and restoration through the power of rescued animals. Guests will have the opportunity to meet the vet assistant students, tour the ranch, and witness first hand how education and compassion come together to serve both people and animals in need.
At Wonder Wood Ranch, students from Central Coast College gain valuable hands-on experience while caring for horses, goats, pigs, and other rescue animals that are part of the ranch’s therapeutic outreach programs. As these future vet assistants learn and grow, they also help Wonder Wood Ranch continue to be a place where at-risk youth, struggling families, and those facing tough times can find encouragement and healing. Donors and supporters are encouraged to attend and see how investing in this partnership directly impacts lives—both two- and four-legged.
The event will feature:
A student-led presentation on species-specific care and rehabilitation
A guided mini tour of Wonder Wood Ranch facilities
A horse training demonstration by ranch staff, showcasing rescue equines in action
