Becoming A Volunteer
It's About What's Good For The Kids
AYSO is a volunteer-run organization. Over 220,000 parents, neighbors, relatives and friends lend their time and talents so that each child gets a terrific AYSO experience. AYSO’s volunteer foundation ensures that it’s all about what’s good for kids. It also makes AYSO very affordable. AYSO operates in a business manner, but volunteers ensure its “profits” are happy, healthy kids playing a sport they can enjoy for life. AYSO has developed special training that helps parents who may have little or no soccer experience quickly gain the age-appropriate knowledge and skills they need to be effective coaches and referees. It also has unique administrative and management training. This ensures that each community program:

Abides by the AYSO philosophies
Offers a great AYSO experience
Continues to grow, offering the AYSO opportunity to more children
It only takes a few hours to become qualified as an introductory-level coach or referee. But if you’re not able to commit even that much time, there are many small jobs you can help with. Even a couple of hours each season are an important contribution to your team and Region! AYSO training doesn’t stop as long as you’re having fun. Referees, coaches and administrators have clinics, workshops and other advanced training available to advance their skills.

We were so excited to get this season going with our second weekend of games but ...

🚨 GAME CANCELLATION – SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19 🚨

Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our players, families, coaches, and volunteers, and in accordance with statements issued by local district supervisors regarding air quality concerns related to the Moss Landing fire, ALL AYSO 256 games scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, September 19, at Manzanita Park are CANCELLED.

The health and safety of our players and families is our highest priority, and we appreciate everyone’s understanding and cooperation.
Please help us spread the word by sharing this post with your teams and other AYSO 256 families.

⚽️ AYSO FAMILIES — WE NEED YOUR HELP! ⚽️

We’ll be out at the fields TODAY (Monday) at 4:00 PM lining the fields for the season, and we could really use some extra hands! 🙌

We’ve only had a couple of volunteers helping with field lining, and it’s a job that takes time, patience, and accuracy — especially when it comes to getting those full-size fields straight and ready for our players. 📏⚽️

You don’t need to be an expert — we’ll show you what to do! We just need some extra people willing to pitch in and help us get it done. The more hands we have, the faster it goes!

❤️ If you can spare some time today at 4 PM, please come out and help! Even an hour makes a difference.

Thank you to everyone who continues to volunteer and help make this season happen. AYSO truly runs on our volunteers! 🙏⚽️

⚽️ TEAMS HAVE BEEN FORMED! 🎉

We’re excited to officially announce that teams have been formed for the upcoming soccer season! 🙌

You should be hearing from your coach soon with more information. Coaches will also have the uniforms for their teams if you ordered one, and they’ll distribute them to players.

🥅 What to Expect:

Even if you didn’t order a jersey, every player will still receive new soccer shorts and socks! 🎉

Players should come prepared with:
💧 A water bottle
⚽️ A soccer ball, if you’re able to bring your own to practice
👟 Soccer cleats
🦵 Shin guards

We are currently low on soccer balls, so if your player has one they can bring to practice, we would really appreciate it! We’re also hoping to purchase new balls for the league next year.

❤️ WE STILL NEED YOUR HELP!

Our league depends on volunteers and community support to make the season possible. We’re still working to secure the funding needed to sponsor our program, and every volunteer hour and donation makes a difference.

We are especially looking for volunteers to help with:

🥨 Snack Shack
🧑‍⚖️ Refereeing
⚽️ Team & League Support

You don’t have to be an expert or know everything about soccer — we just need people willing to give a little of their time to help our kids have a fun, safe, and successful season!

If you’ve been thinking about volunteering, this is your sign! 🙌

Let’s come together and make this a great soccer season for our players! ⚽️💙

THANK YOU to all of the coaches, referees, volunteers, and families who make our league possible! ❤️

Mark your calendars!! This Saturday!
