Update on our Maine C**n girls in their new homes. We'll update on brother Simba when we get an update.

Chloe is partial to the bed and likes to spend time cuddled on the blankets. Cinnamon, now Bunny, enjoys the window and a shelf where her new kitty housemates hang out.

We're so happy for them. Such sweet girls.

Update on our rehab boy.

This boy had many injuries and they seem to be healing very well. The foxtails in his mouth are the most troubling and likely the most painful.

He is no longer drooling pus when he eats. He is getting close to the end of his oral antibiotics. There is one pocket still puffy near the bottom of his jaw, but we hope it will continue shrinking. He still has a gurgled hiss (fur-ocious!) 🙀 but he has not killed anyone, even when cautiously being briefly petted.

He is still very thin but has been eating a LOT. Next step is trying to get an updated weight.

One of the trapping locations for this week. Lots of these kitties are already fixed but we counted 8 non ear tipped, including a litter of kittens, so we are back.

WARNING: GRAPHIC PICTURES

This week we had a kitty desperately needing help at a previously trapped location, with more trapping needed.

This boy is in bad shape. He started out at Reichstadt VetCare where he was cleaned up a bit, neutered and given an antibiotic injection and flea meds. There were maggots on his poor boy, in the infected abscess found under all that mess on his face. He stayed with us for observation.

While in our care after surgery, we noticed he had a lot of pus coming out of his mouth while he was eating. His face was still a wet mess and we knew he needed a deeper exam to find out what was going on.

Saturday he went to Heading Home Animal Rescue's monthly clinic for fosters. We are so thankful they made space for us after seeing this poor guys condition. Dr. Gleason found 5 foxtails in his mouth 😭 His jaw/mouth was so swollen it was hard to get in. He was cleaned up by removing the drainage all over the side of his face and neck, scabbing removed to get a good look at what was under, and matting from gunk was removed from his tail.

He has another antibiotic injection (different kind), fluids and an oral antibiotic we are adding to his food 2x a day. He's a good eater!!

We are hopeful he will make a full recovery. He will stay with us while recovering and we'll do our best for him.
