It is with deep love and sadness and with permission from her family, we share that our beloved friend Mary Ellen Edmunds passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026.
Mary Ellen, our dear “MEE”, has been an integral part of BYU Women’s Conference for more than four decades. She was a yearly WC speaker, committee member, our 25th anniversary service chair, etiquette video star, Sandi’s devoted side kick, and one of our most enthusiastic cheerleaders. Her love, contagious humor, and care was shared with every person she met. She ministered one on one with tenderness, always making people feel seen, loved, and important. A gifted storyteller with a heartwarming laugh, she brought joy everywhere she went and delighted in sharing laughter with others. She ministered to us as a true “happifyer,” reminding us always that “love is a verb.”
Mary Ellen’s unwavering testimony and deep love for the Savior and His gospel were at the center of her life. Her influence has blessed thousands upon thousands upon thousands of women throughout the world. Even as we celebrate a life so beautifully and faithfully lived, we will miss her so much. MEE, thank you for being our light!
