After much anticipation NAC’s Summer Art Camps are now up on the website!

Each of these are 3 day camps that run from Tuesday to Thursday 9am-12pm each day. We have camps running from June through August each exploring a different topic:

Unconventional Art, Comic Book & Illustration, Art Play & Exploration, Textile Art, Photo Processes, and a Fingerboarding Workshop!

Most camps are for kids ages 6+, but a few camps are for more specific age groups so make sure to read the description before signing up.

Neighborhood Art Center we stand with the nationwide strike and call for better and equal treatment for our neighbors! All children deserve to live happy, healthy, and safe lives with their families and friends—no matter where they come from, what they look like, or what language they speak.
This Friday at KinderARTen and Open Studio, rather than your admission going to us, you will be donating the regular cost of admission to a local fund caring for at least 40 children in West Jordan, Utah whose parents have been deported by ICE. We believe that it is important for kids to learn empathy and use their voices to advocate and stand up for others, and this is a perfect opportunity to put that belief into action.
We also encourage you to attend a protest, write to your representatives, and talk to your neighbors and communities!
Stand up for your neighborhood and make it a safe place for everyone to live.

Puppet Making is coming up in February! We did this as a summer camp last year and had so much fun we had to make it a 6-week course to give students more time to spend on their puppets.

In this class everyone will make a muppet-like puppet or marionette, as well as working on making a voice and personality and do skits and interviews with their puppet.

For the first time we are offering a Teen session of our art class! It will be for ages 13-17 and the same dates as our kids one but from 6-8pm.

The kid class (ages 6-12) only has a few spots left but our adult class has lots of space! It may seem like a funny class to take as an adult but if you are interested grab a friend to take it with you! It will be a great place to spend your long winter nights.

Our paint-room snowman is becoming a piece of fine art! It reminds us of the painting 'Woman I' by Willem de Kooning.

Drop in at Open Studio and help paint it this winter: Wednesdays and Fridays 10-5 and Saturdays 12-4. No reservation needed, $3 for adults and $5 for kids!

Our annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration is next week on Monday, January 19th from 10:30am-12:30pm! This is a FREE event for the community to come together to remember what MLK Jr and so many other civil rights activists and leaders from the past fought for-and what we continue to fight for today: equality, peace, and human rights.
We will have art activities based on the art of Black artists from the past and contemporary times as well as activities about expressing your freedom of speech and right to protest.
Come celebrate and learn with us on your day off from school and work!

It’s Art and Macaron night! Tomorrow, Wednesday February 28th from 6-8pm. We will be decorating candles and eating treats! This is an adults only activity. Come hang out with us and make art!
