Advancing Health Innovation: Meet Our 2nd Place Winners from Mongolia! 🌿🇲🇳✨

We are proud to highlight the incredible BAR-US Team, who earned Second Place in The Great Idea Category at the 2025 BYU Management Society Asia Business Plan Competition in New Taipei City! 🥈

Led by Ts. Solongo, a seasoned clinical pharmacist with 36 years of experience, this interdisciplinary team of scientists and researchers is bridging the gap between traditional Mongolian medicine and modern pharmaceutical science. 🩺🔬

The Big Idea:
Mongolia faces one of the highest liver cancer incidence rates globally. To address this urgent national health need, the BAR-US Team researched Leptopyrum fumarioides—a traditional medicinal plant—and successfully isolated six bioactive compounds, including four newly discovered ones that show strong anti-inflammatory and liver-protective properties.

From Research to Market:
They have developed a vitamin-rich, affordable, liver-protective beverage designed to replace costly imported products, with plans to expand into China and Vietnam! 🧃📈

The BAR-US Team perfectly exemplifies how combining tradition with technology can create solutions that are both locally relevant and globally significant.

Championing Local MSMEs Through AI Innovation! 🤖🌾✨

At the BYU Management Society Asia Business Plan Competition held at Fu Jen Catholic University, one idea truly stood out for its heart, purpose, and tech-driven impact. 🏆

We are incredibly proud to highlight Naomi Kaye Buendia, who earned First Place in The Great Idea Category for her groundbreaking venture, SocialSphere AI! 🥇

Naomi noticed that while large corporations have access to advanced marketing tech, grassroots entrepreneurs—like our neighborhood sari-sari stores, bakers, and carinderias—are often left behind. SocialSphere AI bridges this gap with an affordable, hyper-local, AI-driven platform that scans local community trends and generates culturally relevant content to drive real foot traffic and sales. 📈🏪

Naomi perfectly embodies the values-based, servant leadership we love to celebrate at BYU MS Asia.
