As the summer sun casts its longest rays, we’re reminded of the value of light—not just in nature, but in the life of the mind and spirit.
Freemasonry has long been a tradition that seeks light: in knowledge, in service, and in fellowship. This time of year offers a moment to pause, reconnect, and reflect on the values we share.
It was during a summer much like this one—June of 1791—that Brother James Monroe, a future U.S. President, was initiated into Freemasonry. Like so many others, he found in the lodge a place of learning, community, and quiet strength.
At Damascus Lodge #10, we strive to continue that legacy of thoughtful engagement and brotherhood. Whether you’re a long-time Mason or simply curious about who we are and what we do, we welcome sincere questions and open hearts.
Enjoy the season. May it bring warmth, insight, and the kind of rest that prepares us for greater purpose.
