What a wonderful morning to learn about the flora and fauna of Old Colony Nature Pathway, Foss Woods, and Warbler Woods in Provincetown! Led by naturalist, author and PCT Trustee Dennis Minsky our attendees enjoyed learning about the history of plants such as sassafras and our beloved pitch pine. 🌳

We also saw an oven bird, pine warblers, gray catbirds and a white breasted nuthatch.

A very warm welcome to PCT’s Summer 2026 Intern Elliot Dziedzic! Elliot just finished his sophomore year at Bowdoin College where he is majoring in environmental studies / government with legal studies as a double major and with Hispanic studies as a minor.

Elliot will be out and about on our trails, helping maintain them and working with our land stewards to remove invasive species, keeping our conservation lands healthy! He will also be leading weekly bird walks at Hatches Harbor during the summer. Look out for these events by following us here or joining our email list.

We had a gorgeous day for our Welltown Community Hike with on Friday. (Mark Adams) taught us the geological history as well as the history of the artists dune shacks all while getting a work out! History, art, and fitness all in one event!

The Trust’s 2026 Annual Meeting and “Green” Party raises awareness about conservation for our fragile Provincetown eco-systems, protecting it for future generations of people and wildlife and expanding accessibility to these areas for residents and visitors.

This year we welcome Andrew Gottlieb, President of the Association for the Preservation of Cape Cod as our keynote speaker. He will present on the critical campaign his organization is undertaking to help preserve and protect the last 14% of developable land on Cape Cod. He will be introduced by friend, former State Senator, and Cape Air owner Dan Wolfe.

Beautiful brisk morning for a nature walk with along Old Colony Nature Pathway to discover the unique flora and fauna! Loads of lady slippers including a white lady slipper, a gardener snake, white cedar swamp, and beautiful flora including Canadian mayflowers and beach plums.

Our last spring bird walk of the season was incredible! We spotted a scarlet tanager, an indigo bunting, a king bird, along with our favorite migratory birds like the yellow warbler, magnolia warbler, blackburnian warbler, blackpol warbler! Beech Forest was certainly alive yesterday!!!! All photos by William Mullin.
