Facebook asks, "What's on my mind?" Well, I'm thinking a lot about chamber music! How beautiful it is and how it represents a model for the world to learn how to communicate and get along. think of it this way, 2 or more people playing different instruments come together with different views of the music. We rehearse and compromise our mutual visions and present a unified voice of sound art. Here is an example of that in the Andante from Clara Schumann's Piano Trio performed by Christopher Nelson on violin, Tyler Michael James on Cello and Craig W. Combs on piano at at the Provincetown United Methodist Church on Sunday, March 8.

Follow this link to listen to Soir by Mel Bonis (1858-1937) performed this past March 8 at Provincetown United Methodist Church. This work by an historically important French composer whose music has only recently been performed regularly. This is an example of an intimate and personal sound world that inhabits both the 19th and 20th centuries simultaneously. It's definitely worth your time at only a little over 4 minutes. Boston String Academy visited Provincetown March 6–8. These photos capture the student musicians experiencing the warmth and hospitality of the Provincetown community while exploring some of its iconic landmarks. I am confident this experience has given them lasting, positive memories to carry with them into the future.

Please take a moment to look through these photos of Boston String Academy and Provincetown IB Schools collaborations last week - a day of music workshops made possible by the Massachusetts Cultural Council through a grant given by the Provincetown Cultural Council. These pics are memories of a brilliant, well executed, educational artistic experience for these children. It's hard to believe that a week has passed since the Boston String Academy Residency in Provincetown! Please take a moment to view this amazing video compilation showing wonderful moments shared at the Provincetown Schools, The Center for Coastal Studies, Brasswood Inn, Bay Cafe, Provincetown House of Pizza, St. Mary on the Harbor, Provincetown United Methodist Church and at several downtown sites. Their residency was a true Provincetown experience of welcome and warmth from all that crossed paths with these exceptionally talented children. Cheers to all who made this possible.
